I ordered nine eggs to hatch in my classroom.

I placed my order on February 15th and my eggs arrived on March 25th.

After reading some bad reviews, I was terrified that I might have gotten scammed. If the eggs did arrive, I was expecting a 0% hatch rate. I ordered from the opposite side of the country and was afraid I’d be getting scrambled eggs! However, they arrived carefully packaged without a crack (The picture of the eggs was taken after I unpacked them and put them in my own carton). 7/9 eggs showed signs of fertilization and 6/9 eggs hatched into adorable little chicks! Meet Sunny, Marshmallow, Pooh, Rosie, Spot, and Yogi (named by my sweet second graders). I can’t wait to see how beautifully they grow!

I paid for 8 chicks in February they never contacted me, so I looked it up on my credit card and emailed that day they email me that day they are sending me the chicks that day. They come three days later they were all dead except two which I lost that day I tried everything to keep them going. When I contacted them they said the post office was liable because they should’ve been here in two days which it looks like they insured them for $100 but I paid them $188 and on their site says they guarantee their birds. The weird thing was that some of the chicks in the box we’re already rotting I truly don’t believe that rotting Happens in three days, what I do know if something went terribly wrong and those little birds suffered terribly

I picked up 6 Brahma pullets back in August 2023. The chicks were very healthy and calm. The communication was slightly rough. I would recommend them to my family and friends. I'll be ordering chicks again.

I won’t post pictures here because they are super sad. 3 of the 5 I ordered were dead and the packaging is NOT what was advertised. They didn’t have a chance. Not to mention it wasn’t even what I ordered. The olive egger turned out to be a straight cream legbar (lays blue eggs) and one of the dead ones was wrong. Before I ordered the speckled Sussex I asked why his were so expensive compared to others. He said “they’re show quality”. First off, she is the sweetest bird ever, partly because she spent so much time inside being sick (from the start). Also, she is far from show quality, her feet are so deformed she wouldn’t even be allowed in. Look how pale she was in the pictures. We still aren’t sure what it was but the best guess is it was parasites (again, that way from the start).
Patrick is going to come on here and say “sorry sometimes there are unfortunate losses blah blah blah”. He blamed USPS for the dead birds but one person is responsible for all the dead chickens you see on here. Patrick. He will send chicks he knows aren’t going to make it then blame USPS, then ignore you when you try to contact him. Get your birds elsewhere. There are 50 places with better birds at a cheaper price … and you aren’t supporting an unethical poultry breeder that hurts the industry.

Patrick and Hilltop Farms are outstanding! I highly recommend and would definitely get any other chicks I am looking for in the future from him. I got 4 Lavender Americauna chicks. I ordered ahead since they are in demand and popular right now. I was able to get them about 2 weeks ahead of schedule when he had a big hatch. All 4 were healthy and active and ADORABLE. He was great about making sure we knew what we needed (we were already set up but I really appreciated he made himself available for questions and to make sure people knew that their chicks needed heat etc - just shows he cares about the animals). Our chicks are now a couple weeks old and doing really well. They are inquisitive and sweet and do great with my 5 year old. PLUS they have to be the cutest chicks I have ever seen. Thanks again Patrick!

Picked up our first chickens after much preparation and Hilltop was the right choice! We did not verify an appointment time and drove 100 miles to pick out our birds. Constantine helped us and found several hens old enough to move outside. 4 of the 5 were very hardy with the last a little behind in development (did not make the third week) going back for an older girl to round out the flock. Great looking birds and conscientious employees make it easy to remain excited about our new hobby!

Hilltop Farms is incredible. Great communication. Very healthy chicks. Bought 15 birds from Patrick, all are alive and thriving. Our Blue Copper maran are beautiful birds, and lay nice darker eggs. The Swedish flowers are some of the most eye catching birds in our flock. Do not hesitate buying from Hilltop. You won’t be disappointed.
