Wonderful coffee, shop and Café in the old hotel Vance. The atmosphere is terrific in the old lobby of the hotel. Quaint cozy place to grab an absolutely delicious coffee as well as some breakfast food. Highly recommend if you’re in this area. One of the better coffee shops in old town!

Traveling along the entire California coast with my partner and this is the best coffee we have found anywhere on our travels!

High quality coffee & food, absolutely gorgeous historic building, and super friendly staff! We had ordered a cappuccino and a lavender latte, and WOW from the first sip you can tell they use high quality beans and dairy to create beverages that are delicious works of art. We also ordered one vegetarian chilaquiles to share, and it was so tasty we ordered a second one so that we didn’t have to share 🙂

Happy to see lots of veggie options, and excited to hear about the second location in Arcata, which we are going to have to check out so we can try more goodies and pick up a shirt so we can rep our new favorite coffee shop! 😍😍

Popped in on my road trip for a quick drink. Was delighted to see that they offer pour over coffee with geisha offerings. My coffee was piping hot and delicious. Atmosphere was cuter than anticipated and bathrooms were clean. Street parking was easy to find.

However, service was slow and the barista loudly complained about making my drink.. which felt unnecessary considering it was an hour before closing time.

Probably the best and most consistent espresso in the area. Unfortunately, they don’t have half-and-half or cream, which is stupid. And no, the fancy pants whole milk they’ve got in there isn’t cutting it. For those who choose to live life to the fullest, you’ll have to bring your own proper creamer. It’s whatever, I’ll give them five stars anyways since they’re the only ones around who could pull a decent shot of espresso.

Beautiful location. Staff were kind but not friendly. Passive aggressive signs posted all over about not using specific furniture.

It was very slow service. I think the manager needs to hire more staff. I received the wrong pastry and she was annoyed that I didn’t want it.

I don’t know. I was on the fence about this one but honestly it’s unacceptable. After waiting 30 min for my latte, I couldn’t drink it. Why are you serving spicY chili pepper lattes and advertising them as “spicED maple”? That’s not the same thing. A few sips in, mouth and throat are burning, headache and almost threw up. For actual health reasons and decent human business practices, you need to warn people or list the spices. When I suggested that most people would infer cinnamon and nutmeg, they looked at me like I was the crazy one.

The mole latte was unique and very tasty - I'd go back just for it. The baristas were very friendly and kind. The downfall was they were very slow! We went in and only saw a couple in line ahead of us, yet it took about 30 minutes to get our two lattes. A few came out ahead of us - maybe 5 but with 2-3 people working, I expected it to be much quicker.
