One of the best places you'll ever get your groceries. Meat and produce are cheap, and the lack of sales tax really adds to that. They have a decent sized international section, although I've been to some Commissaries with larger. Only two complaints I have are the lack of generic brand in some products (i.e. spices) and the 5% fee tacked onto the bill when making purchases.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at the Fort Novosel Commissary. The product selection is always impressive—especially the foreign-style items (Thai, Japanese, and many more) you can’t find in typical grocery stores. They also have a wonderful and wide selection of fresh produce and the best prices around for a lot of different products. It’s one of the few places where you can reliably get international products that bring a taste of overseas living back home.

I also appreciate the tax-free pricing, even with the small surcharge (which is understandable and clearly explained). The staff is consistently professional, and the overall shopping environment is clean, well-organized, and pleasant. It’s genuinely one of my favorite places to shop, and I’m grateful to have it as part of the military community.

Prices are good on most items, especially meats. Bathrooms are nice. Sometimes there are issues with stuff being kept in stock. Also, the self check out is usually packed and very slow to use and you can
only use it with 25 items or less. The normal check out lanes are even slower. There are max 3 opened out of roughly 10 lanes and it is super slow.

Would give higher rating but it would be nice for the coupon card to work more often than what it does. I plan my grocery list by the coupons that I have selected. I have to pay more because the coupon card doesn't work.

Great for convenience, typically has everything we need and it’s close to our home. We shop here frequently since it’s so close! Great prices on meat, just be sure to check expiration dates.

This place needs less than one star. While as a vet the prices are good. The BAGGERS are atrocious. They will get extremely irate with you if you tell them you don’t need help. In fact the gentleman TODAY working register number 1, told me I needed to ASK the cashier for them not to bag my groceries. The last time I checked I don’t work there, I don’t need to ask anyone permission, they need to ASK me before throwing all of my stuff in the cart and trying to walk off with it!!! I can take my own groceries to my vehicle….I wasn’t alone either I had my husband and one of my children with me. You volunteer to work there knowing you only get tips, but as consumers we DO NOT have to tip you!!!!! I’m so tired of everyone thinking they are ENTITLED to tips. The biggest issue is they start off being rude first and expect the customers to just take it, and the managers are never anywhere to be found and the customer service ladies are all giggling in the back not at their desks and ignoring customers that come to their desk. Absolutely PATHETIC. And it seems after ALL these complaints nothing is ever done.

Fantastic selection and a huge variety of options! Produce was all nice and fresh, This should be the blueprint for all Commissaries in the Army!

Moldy breads, moldy vegetables, no eggs or egg options, expired beef and chicken - no registers open, long lines, much much higher prices. Why would you ever shop here?
