I had the joy of helping build the ranch into the 4-H youth environmental ranch in the β€˜80 with a lot of fun people led by Eric Jorginson. It was great to have groups of kids that had never left the city, come to the ranch, and learn about milking goats, picking tomatoes, and scooping up manure.

A beautiful ranch situated in a stunning valley in Half Moon Bay. Lots of activities for young students to interact with animals and plants on the farm, and learn about them. A great place for kids to visit! It’s in the middle of nowhere and there is no Wi-Fi or cell signal.

Amazing place to come with kids on a school field trip. Very friendly and informative staff, and you get to brush goats. What else could you ask for.

What an amazing place! We came here for a field trip and it was well run. The lady docent was very professional, knowledgeable and understand how kids learn. Definitely one of the better field trips we've had. The scenery from the parking lot is amazing in early spring. The kids enjoyed the tire swing area. It is easy to wait here with younger kids while older ones do the field trip.

Our social pod went for an Adventure Day, and it was so much fun. We had kids ages 3 to 9 and Beth made sure each child had a magical time. The animals were friendly (especially the baby goats!) and the kids cannot stop talking about their experience. If you can afford it, and you have a social pod that can make an afternoon of it, I highly recommend taking the trip to Elkus Ranch. Except for wearing masks, it felt like everything was back to normal somehow...so down to earth, on a farm, petting goats--a very welcome change of pace.
