I have visited many Indian restaurants throughout 10+ states in the country. When visiting Indian restaurants, I always order three cannot-miss food from any Indian restaurant: naan, chicken tikka masala, and fried food.

Naan was disappointing 2/5 - doughy, not enough butter, and no crisp at all.
Chicken tikka masala 2/5 - too herby, not enough chicken meat for the price point, and tastes slightly better than store-bought bottled curries.
Fried food 4/5 - good crisp, stays warm, and good mix of veggies and carbs.

Overall, I do not recommend eating here, especially when the price point does not justify the quality of the food. However, I expect the quality of the food and price points to change, as more competitors enter the Petoskey Indian food market in the next 5 years. I don’t expect the restaurant to address these concerns, but they will lose business soon otherwise.

Great experience eating lunch here. Everyone on staff operated with high degree of attentiveness to quality. The food was very good, with high-quality ingredients and focus on richer spices over just dousing everything in cream. Appreciated how many vegetarian dishes were available, and how fully plant-based items were designated as such. The restaurant itself was extremely clean, with a practical setup. It can't be the easiest place in the world to run an Indian restaurant but well done to the owners. Will look forward to returning when in N. Michigan.

Food quality and service has improved a lot since my last visit in May this year. This time all the items tasted good. Fast service. Pili Dal is too good 👌🏼

Tea was horrible.

They had buffet for dinner. But, we didn’t have it.
We took a takeout with a lot of stuff and varieties.

The food quantity was very low per dish.
Sindhi biryani was not good.

The chicken and lamb appetizers were very dry.
Butter chicken was below average. Hara bhara was more like a tikki.

Mutton/goat was overall okay.

*Goat biryani will definitely recommend.*

My daughter and I had never had authentic Indian cuisine and Aamchi didn't disappoint. Fresh ingredients and delicious food. The staff are lovely. We always prefer to eat local when traveling. This was perfect. Lots of gluten free choices and vegan choices. I will visit again.

I eat here all of the time because I love Indian food and it's the only restaurant within an hour of my house. I often order the same thing with an extra side of rice. Today I ordered two sides of rice and when I got home I noticed on was missing. I called them, and they said they combined both sides into one. But every other time I ordered a side, it was the same size of this one side that I received.

They proceed to tell me that that's not the size of a side, even though I received the same size every week.

I've also noticed that when I go into eat that my boyfriend and I will sometimes get different portion sizes then we did the previous time.

Because of this and the fact that it's so expensive. They've likely lost a customer. You cannot charge people the same price and change the portions on them as you see fit. That's not how you stay in business.

We had a paneer curry with garlic naan which was good but the manchurian we ordered were very raw, they were not cooked properly and were ok the staff was kind enough to take it back re cook and get it back but unfortunately the raw taste didn’t go away but we had it since it closing time for the restaurant
