Having been to wineries in California, Oregon, Germany, Italy, and others, Folklor Wine and Cider tasting tour surpassed them all. It's a personal, deeply informative, and one with nature kind of tour.
I prefer dry wines and ciders, and Folklor had plenty to choose from. I went in with limited exposure to ciders and now have an enriched base to start exploring them more. I highly recommend the tour if you have a passion for wines and want to get into the vineyard. It was a highlight of our yearly family gathering in Charlevoix, MI.

Spectacular cider and wine with a stunning outside patio by the orchard and vines. The owner was incredibly kind and told us all about the products they’re creating. Be sure to build your own charcuterie with yummy local treats! We loved the King Orchard dark chocolate covered cherries. Can’t wait to go back and see what other tasty things they will make!

Absolutely worth the drive! Excellent wines that would satisfy any taste. My favorites were the Ode to Home cider (very unique combo of fermented apple and grape) and the Icebox Rose. The selection of Riesling was amazing.

The highlight of the experience, though, was the private tour with Derrick. He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and those are surpassed only by his passion for his craft. The tour added immensely to an already great time and I would recommend it to anyone who loves Northern Michigan, wine and cider, or just a good time with awesome hosts.

We are so glad we stopped at Folklor! Izabela was very personable and took the time to explain each of the wines and ciders. They were all great and we just had to take two home to share!

Stopped by for a wine and cider tasting and a tour and had a blast. The tastings were delicious and learning about them, from growing to fermenting, was even more enjoyable.
In my tour I learned a lot about the history of their property and their organic farming. Iza and Derrick also showed how passionate, knowledgeable, and excited they are about growing and creating exciting drinks.
I’ll be coming back again and will recommend this to everyone.

We had a great wine tasting at Folklor! The owners care about the craft of producing quality, organic wines and it shows in the final product. We ended up getting multiple bottles to-go!

New winery and vineyard in Charlevoix. New vines will provide new varietals to the offerings of the Tip Of the Mitt wineries. Current offerings are from the 2020 and 2021 seasons yielding a more balanced wine. Hands on owners are welcoming and willing to share their vision for future seasons. Look forward to watching and tasting as they grow.

Izabela’s private tour of their beautiful vineyards and sustainable land was an eye opening experience and, of course, topped off with delicious wine! She did a great job answering our many questions and we could tell her and her husband Derrick are passionate about what they do.
