Love this place. Great selection of danishes and all kinds of amazing baked goods. We were here during the holidays so they have an amazing gigantic gingerbread house. Very cute place just to hang out and have a coffee and a snack. Very high-quality. Definitely recommend it. It’s right next-door to a pancake house that you may want to go to, but can’t get in because it’s too busy. This is a great alternative.

Stopped here yesterday on my way out of town. I spent nearly $60 on a handful of pastries and none of them were fresh. The cherry boat’s fruit, is bitter and medicinal tasting. The cheese danish was dry. The almond cookie wasn’t fresh either and didn’t have much of a flavor. This place is definitely a tourist trap. None of the several pastries were baked the same day. Very disappointing.

Okay, the famous danish bakery is an overrated as I experienced. Not all the items are special except I can say they were fresh baked.
Lines to get an item are sooo long especially that we are in the Christmas season.
I ordered around 5 items and a cappuccino, we liked 2 items and the coffee was a normal one.
Prices are moderate. Staff are not welcoming though.

I recently visited this bakery, which has quite the reputation and long queues, so I was excited to give it a try. I ordered the Sarah Bernardt cookie, marzipan log, and another pastry I can't quite recall the name of. Unfortunately, none of them were really to my liking. That said, I also had a cafe au lait, and it was really good—definitely a highlight of the visit. The bakery itself has a good vibe and offers an experience, so I’d still recommend it. Maybe my choices weren't the best, and I’m sure there are other treats that might suit my taste better. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

Even with a long line out of the door, this business was organized and quick. So many pastry and danish options it’s hard to decide! We ordered for take out and the pastries we took were delicious.

Wow a renowned establishment specializing in authentic Danish pastries, breads, cookies, and cakes. Founded in 1970 by Bent Olsen, a third-generation master baker from Denmark, the bakery has become a staple in Solvang’s rich Danish heritage.

A must..Danish Custard Kringle, Almond Tarts, and Butter Rings. The bakery also offers an authentic RundsTykker Danish Continental Breakfast, featuring freshly baked hard rolls served with homemade jam and Danish cheese.
Solvang, often referred to as the ā€œDanish Capital of America,ā€ is a charming city in the Santa Ynez Valley, known for its Danish-inspired architecture, cultural events, and a variety of European bakeries and shops.

There are many great bakeries in Solvang, but Olsen's is my absolute favorite. Their butter cookies and pastries are fabulous. They even ship their famous cookies for online orders. I make sure to take a plastic bucket home with me wverytime I visit their bakery.

Nice bakery and the choices are overwhelming and I doubt they make everything fresh daily because too many selections and not enough time to bake so many. My friend enjoyed her choice but I had the cinnamon crisp and apple strudel and didn’t like either. Neither tasted fresh and I threw them away. I think it really depends on your taste but definitely worth a try.

There was also a long line but the employees worked very proficiently but none were friendly nor smiled.

What I didn’t like is the customer service wasn’t friendly and you did feel rushed. No one smiled or greeted you. This is the problem with a few popular business; forget that customer service was why they became popular.

It’s located in great area but has very little seating. We tried to put items in trash but there was no trash receptacle. I think it was more about experiencing the unique town and not the food!
