As the only urban farm in Long Beach, Farm Lot 59 is a precious gem. Not only are they bringing beauty to our community through the growing and selling of heirloom and diverse flowers, they also produce fruits and vegetables sustainably and DONATE THEM to local food banks. Local, nutrient dense food is going to the folks who need it more than those who can afford to shop at Whole Foods!
Farmer Sasha and the FL59 team have worked hard to be a positive change in the neighborhood by providing a venue for education and community building.

Urban Agriculture in Long Beach at it's very best here at FarmLot 59 which is where Long Beach Local is based. The transformation from illegal dumping grounds (with a Kickstarter campaign June 30th 2010), to a present day private Working Farm that specializes in flowers and herbs in an oasis and brilliantly surrounded by hiking trails and great views of the city. The Educational aspect of this Farm, run thru Long Beach Local with the FarmLot Kids programs, is a shining star in all of LA County, in the heart of Long Beach, our own back yard with Farmer Sasha. Restaurants and businesses support the farm and help make educational programs and lunches for Families and those in need possible. Each growing season is planned out, planted, tended and harvested with education in mind. It's the kind of community Love of fresh healthy food that makes Long Beach Local and FarmLot 59 an amazing place to support.
