If you are a collector of succulent plants, or know someone who is, LA Succulents is a non-negotiable go-to in the L.A. area. It has, by far, the biggest selection of unique, rare, hard-to-find succulents, cacti, causiciforms that I have seen in LA. Which is weird, you'd think that LA would be brimming with such stores given the climate ☀️ and whatnot... I would say that 90% of these plants you would have to buy online to get in LA, and the 10% would involve going to at least 5 nurseries to aquire, and they would be inferior in quality.
There is so much to say about this place... #1 ALL PLANTS ARE LABELED W/ PRICE & BOTANICAL NAMES! Also, plants are very healthy and well cared for, it is well-staffed with knowledgeable individuals who are (seemingly) loving what they do and where they work. Prices are... Well, all over the place. I'm sure with good reason. I'd say, overall, they are fair.
It took me 2.5 hrs to get to LAS, it was worth every minute. I will be back, and highly recommend this place. As a collector, I appreciate the hard work and genuine horticultural skill that is happening here. If you can't make it in person, I believe they have an online presence on social media.
My haul: Pelargonium crithmifolium, Astrophytum capricorne, Leuchtenbergia principis

These guys know their plants and were very helpful answering all my questions. Their variety is amazing! We were a day early for the plant sale this year but got to see everything being set up. Truly some beauties and rarities. I'm excited to add to our collection and know if I have problems or questions, these guys can help me out.

These growers are incredible. Everything for sale is grown in house and in beautiful condition. I own many plants from them! LA Succulents is top tier. For rare and healthy specimen, this is a great place.
One thing I will say is that you guys could display your personal plants more. It’s kind of disappointing as a customer who drives a long way, to get into your massive greenhouse only to discover that it’s 90% off limits and there’s so much less for sale than what’s in there.
There are incredible specimens that people would drive to appreciate.

I couldn’t be happier about all my purchases from “LA Succulents”...
At “LA Succulents” the selection of hard to find species stapeliads is impressive and all the plants are high quality. Species stapeliads are well-rooted cuttings taken from a mature parent following flowering, so that each plants’ specific species is verified. IOW, “LA Succulents” plants are healthy, true to species and correctly labeled; versus being an unremarkable hybrid grown from open-pollinated seeds - the such, which is frequently and falsely sold as species plants by online vendors.
Of course, no review is complete without actually showing some of the plants bought. So I’ve included 3 pictures so anyone can make their own judgement. The pictures show plants that were already flowering, flowered several days later once home, or are ready to flower.

Love the unique selections. This place has it all. I come now and then to see what is new. There is always a new adoption I have to get :p. Even some grafted cactus with age!!!! They have a large farm area that you are able to see from the shopping area. That is where they reproduce and let the plants age, sprout seed etc. I could live here OMG. highly recommend for anyone. If you don't know about plants they will tell you how to care for your new baby!

I collect hoyas but lost nearly my entire collection to a bad mealy bug outbreak a couple years ago. I am finally in a position to rebuild, so I made a point to visit LA Succulents for the first time this weekend. They had an interesting selection of hoyas, most being large 6-inch baskets and all were very robust! They even had some rarer specimens, which I had to pass up this visit, but it was exciting to see them in person all the same. I'm not very knowledgeable about cactus and succulents, but their selection was fun to look through and everything was clearly labeled, which was super helpful for me. The staff were warm and friendly. I'm grateful to live nearby and will be visiting again!

Cal and Charlie were exrremely helpful!
I bought cacti native to Argentina and Africa. Great additions to my cactus garden. Unique cacti and succulents will make great gifts.

This nursery is well stocked and Kal is very knowledgeable about the plants he sells and succulents in general. Worth a visit.
