I've had a few issues with my spawn, BUT...Matt has gone above and beyond to help me....with replacements, and with a new choice since that strain I wanted wasn't doing well...these guys are so nice and respectful and they really really care about their customers receiving a good experience....so if you have any issues, just give them a call...I promise you won't be disappointed! Before my first purchase, I researched extensively and found Liquid Fungi consistently rated as one of the top mushroom spawn producers in the country. After ordering their high-quality spawn twice through Amazon, I discovered they were local and decided to visit. While they primarily operate online, they absolutely welcome in-person customers at their professional laboratory. The owner was genuinely excited to have an in-person customer and took time to share his expertise about mushroom cultivation.
The lab space is impressive and spotless, giving you confidence in their spawn quality. What really sets the in-person experience apart is the invaluable expert advice you can't get through online purchases. When I mentioned using their plug spawn on logs from a hurricane-felled tree, the owner immediately cautioned me about using rotted sections, explaining they wouldn't take well. I also learned that my previous attempt with spawn on aged wood chips might not be optimal - knowledge that could have saved me time and money had I visited first! While I'm still hoping those wood chips work out, this kind of specific, situation-based guidance is impossible to get through Amazon purchases.
If you're new to mushroom growing, visiting in person is invaluable - you can get direct advice and see their professional setup. Don't let the "laboratory" designation intimidate you; they're very welcoming to walk-in customers and happy to help beginners.

I just spent about an hour on and off a message with one of the Liquid Fungi people there in Florida helping me think through what my next step is for mushroom spawn! It is mor now 11 PM my time in Oregon. I'm sure this was the middle of the night for this poor individual willing to help me but they need to know how much I really appreciated it! And about the product I'm sure it will be wonderful because of the time and care they took to take care of this one individual....
