I cannot believe how wild, extremely beautiful, silent and spiritual this place is. With the little creek running through stepping stones, so many hidden corners where you can sit and enjoy the view on the mountains or the ocean… and then the people working in the Botanic Garden are all so sweet! I absolutely loved it and could have wandered for many more hours in this lovely “garden” which feels like a magic place of its own ❣️ from the garden I walked down to the Old Mission, easing myself into the lived world again 😇 oh and how lucky was I : the poppies were blooming!

This place is Disneyland for nature lovers! During our recent trip to Santa Barbara, we decided to stop by for a couple hours. This easily turned into 4 hours and we only left because they closed! Could have spent all day here. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with highlights being the redwoods area, back country area, new hiking trail, conservatory area where you can learn about the plants on all the channel islands, and the views. It's worth a trip just for the stunning views of Santa Barbara and the surrounding area. When you walk in the view with the mountains in the background and the meadow is simply breathtaking. The staff here was super welcoming and gave us an awesome verbal overview of the map which made exploring the grounds a little easier. This was probably the best $20 for entertainment I've spent in a while and the money goes to plant conservation efforts, what's not to love!

Held a bridal shower at the Island Deck Conservatory in the gardens and it was such a lovely experience. Great communication, fair pricing, and just a beautiful area. Definitely worth the visit and if you’re planning an event in the area, we would highly consider the SB Botanical Gardens. 10/10 would come again!

Visited in December but there were still plenty of interesting plants and trees to enjoy. Excellent labeling of the flora. The paths are easy to follow and none are overly long. If it weren't for the fact I live on the East Coast, I'd visit again in the spring.

We hiked the new Tipton trail. There were some steep sections, but enjoyed the new bridge so we could safely cross the creek. The views at the top are worth it!!

Great way to spend an afternoon. Close to downtown Santa Barbara. You can wander along the Meadow, through the Canyon, the Redwoods and the Manzanita trees. Lots of different environments and their plants species to see and enjoy. Very unique.

Went recently in January and they still had plenty of plants/trees to enjoy. Definitely need to come back in the spring! The staff is really great all around and very nice that they have the nursery where you can buy native plants! This garden is a must stop for all California native plant lovers and people who are looking to discover and enjoy a California treasure.

Wow, I can’t believe I never visited for all the years I lived in Santa Barbara back in the aughts. I loved seeing the variety of flora and fauna, and there’s a lovely area for kids that included a tiny building with a stage for kids to play act. We crossed a stream with no difficulty, and admired redwood trees. Across the way is a remarkable view of the water and islands. This is definitely more of an out of a way spot but worth visiting if you were staying a little longer.
