The perfect place to do your holiday shopping!!! Today I bought cute ornaments, journals, pens, a gift basket, and fresh produce. My husband and I enjoyed a delish sandwich, snacks and tasty soft drinks after we did our holiday shopping. Love that we could walk down to the Christmas Tree lot after lunch and shopping to bring home a beautiful tree to decorate!

What a wonderful little spot. It's got everything you need, plus some cool local finds. The location is ideal, making it a convenient spot to grab a variety of items.

The deli is delicious- make sure to grab the turkey pesto sandwich. There's also a nice outdoor area that's perfect for families with kids and even pets. Great place to come and relax.

Looking forward to my next visit.

SLO Ranch Farms & Marketplace is an evolving effort and the location for this has an long interesting history. Speaking of the location, it is across the way from the Madonna Plaza complex, and not too far from the 101 either via Madonna, or via Los Osos, then Madonna Rd.

It now includes, a Marketplace, which the main building on site & is a large fashionable upscale grocery, a complex with various retail or food businesses, a farm with fun activities for kids [rides on Pony's] [Petition Zoo], a Farm, with developing community plots, and a working farm [which partially supplies produce for the Marketplace]. In addition, there are short term, seasonal, and periodic long term events. There may be someone playing music in the plaza, or someone selling Christmas Trees on site.

Despite many years of controversy, first the concept of the Farm & Marketplace was promoted and over recent times it is being implemented. In past articles from the local paper [The Tribune], they have discussed various aspects of this project...such as "The project features 10,000 square feet of retail space and a 40-acre working farm, with hopes of keeping the San Luis Obispo tradition alive within the growing area."..." "Our goal is to create not just a shopping center, but an experience," said Jacob Grossman, SLO Ranch Farms Operations manager."

This project seems to popup in the local news quite often, especially when it becomes newsworthy or visible from the 101 [the hoops & plastic are to grow Blueberries]. As time goes on they will be adding several food vendors to the family, including Pizza & Sushi.

Currently, there are some great businesses on the grounds already & have been active for awhile.

Here are some:

SLO Market= Grocery with a great Deli that features on site BBQ, homemade Muffins & Baked Goodies, like Cheesecake and local pies. Salads, Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, and more.

A full range market with tons of local produce and local gifts, like EVOO.

They include foods, wines, cheeses, eggs, bacon, meat, chicken, grown or made by students at the Cal Poly Campus.

Pies & bread from Bread Bike or Bramble Pie.

Housemade Pasta from Etto.

Other North County goodies like local Salami.

Not to be left out, one can find Hot Sauce from little Cayucos.

Besides great local items, they do have a great selection of International goodies, like beer from Czechoslovakia, Belgium, & Germany.

In stock is also hard to find items like rare cured pork products from Spain.

While we were there, I did have a chance to chat with a few who live in this cute development and they seemed quite pleased with the eats here, not to mention the houses here.
