I have been shopping here for just about 45 years. The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly... always around to offer and ask for great advice. I've ordered things to be shipped with a deadline and never had a problem. The plants, flowers and trees are of the beat quality and I only use Benjamin Moore paint so its a win win! I appreciate a local business to support. Thank you so much!

I was once kicked out for not letting them hold my little waist bag that IS my wallet…?!? I felt it was ridiculous to be asked to leave for no other reason than that I wouldn’t hand over my money.
Otherwise, the employees are only so-so, with very little helpful knowledge to share and almost no real-world experience to apply to the job or the products they are selling.
It’s sad to see the smaller stores get swallowed by these big conglomerates with inept staff.
Plus, higher prices for lower-quality PRODUCTS FROM CHINA is a pretty big sign you SHOULD NOT SHOP HERE.
The big orange box store has better selection and prices, you just still have to deal with lame staff.
Edit: I have been shopping at “this” store since well before it was Miners/Ace. The original location was across the street and had real working people behind the counter. They retained most of the staff when they lived and sold to the next company, then got gutted by Ace/Miners and are now the worst in town, in my opinion. I’ve had much better experiences just paying a real workshop to make the part I’m looking for, or simply driving to another city and going to a “good” store with some real selection and real knowledge walking around in uniform.
Otherwise, it’s Amazon all the way!

I work nearby this location of miners and was hoping to get some glue dots there today for work. I called and the phone rang and rang and rang. So I called the AG store to ask if SLO had glue dots which they confirmed they did so I walked over to minors and they said they would have someone meet me in the aisle to help me find them. Not only did no one ever come, but I also couldn’t find the glue dots so left with nothing and went to Michael’s. This location does not have their stuff together and is not a good customer service experience. avoid

I’ve been getting more into home projects, and sometime I run into issue the internet just can’t help me with, I’ve been going to Minors more frequently not only for the quality products but the service and knowledgeable staff have saved me more times then i can explain. Recently installed irrigation and sod had 0 knowledge of how to put in irrigation systems but the guys in plumbing same me for a lot of time and frustrations. Thanks guys

Super great store! Love, love, love the old fashion train building! The garden area was beautiful. The store seemed very well organized and staff took great care of us. We were even greeted by a manager, Haley, who went out of her way to show us around to find what we were looking for. She seemed super friendly towards us and her staff too, always had a big smile. Love all the cute handmade, beachy yard art. Will definitely be back for that.
