I ordered a 1/4 beef from them and received fantastic meat and excellent service. The advantage of dealing directly with a small ranch was apparent when I had to make an unexpected trip out of town and they readily held my shipment until I returned. The meat itself is excellent, great fat content for grass fed beef and the flavor is among the best I've had. The breakdown of the quarter beef package is anatomically appropriate too, you're getting all the steak content you'd expect from a quarter beef. Last but not least, they're very competitive with other ranches on their pricing. I will be a customer as long as I live inside their delivery range.

It's been around 10 years to get meats from them and was good enough regarding quality and customer services. However, I will not order them anymore now. I got medium beef package paid about $600, but I surprised when I got them because I found a lot of ground beef in box, maybe more than 50% of meats. In addition, it is different taste as it was before.
I recommended my friends this product, but called them and share my experience to not order their product. I will try to find another farm to have a good quality meats.

I put an order in a few months ago and have been slowly getting through everything. So far I'm pretty happy with everything, good flavor and the cuts have been pretty meaty. Also I thought their pricing was fair. The meat came fresh and the shipping was pretty fast within California.

I'm 70 years old and was raised on grass-fed organic beef so I am familiar with the normal flavor and texture of this type of beef. I tried ordering expensive filet mignon and New York steaks twice. Unfortunately both times I was disappointed with the flavor and felt the steaks were quite tough; and, my family shared that opinion

BUT their ground beef is very very good and reasonably priced.

To the people who complain that they are not customer service oriented etc I would tend to agree that they have room for growth in this area. They are however a small family business, they are ranchers who work from dawn to dusk to bring us beef that is not poisoned with cheap GMO "feed" at reasonable prices. They are not 100% proficient with web maintenance and other administrative details. However Sean goes out of his way to quickly respond to customers with issues. While he did not offer to replace the steaks with which I was unhappy (and I didn't expect him to), he also was not defensive or argumentative about it. Sometimes you just get an old cow. LOL. It can happen at Raley's too. HOWEVER, I HAVE QUITE A BIT OF TROUBLE BELIEVING THAT HE LIED TO ANYONE. I DON'T WANT TO START AN ARGUMENT ABOUT IT, I'M JUST SAYIN ... And the trucks that one person said are parked in front of neighborhoods for days on end ... I have a bit of an issue with that contention as well. Open Space /Mariposa Meats are well aware of their obligation to deliver the meat in a frozen state; obviously, their trucks are refrigerated. It could be that these were empty trucks parked in a residential neighborhood.

I will continue to order all of my ground beef from them and I am perfectly content to forego GMO cuts of beef.

I would not do business with them. After hearing what my friend had to go through when dealing with them, i will be sure that i and others close to me will never deal with them. The company could have done something to resolve the situation, but chose to write it off as if she was at fault. First time customer, and now you’ve lost a potential long time customer and others because of the lack of willingness to be helpful. The situation: the order wasn’t delivered. Someone was home at the “time of delivery”. When she emailed the response was “i googles your address and the description he gave us the same description on google maps. I trust my driver, he’s been with me for 4 years” .... thanks, but no thanks. Your driver can google the address just as well as you can. And to insinuate that she was lying when the company failed to provide tracking and failed to ensure it was delivered to the correct address(signature), is bad business. She’s now out a substantial amount of money for trying out what seemed to be a good family owned business. I hope other people read this and take heed. At the end of the day, the owner of the company offered no help to resolve the situation. Extremely disappointed

Great customer service. Seth is always very prompt to reply to any question regarding orders or services. The quality of the meat is fresher and tastier than anything I can find at local stores that sell GFM. I will continue to order from Open Space and have recommended friends and family do the same.

I have been ordering from Open Space Meats for over 5 years now. Very happy with the taste and quality of the product, the customer service has always been outstanding, and I love that it is delivered to my front porch for free!
