I grew up coming here every year for elementary school field trips. I haven't been here since before I graduated high school and it's even more beautiful than i remember it being. Definitely going to come back and take friends for hikes, and to come back for the fall to see all the colors. loved taking photos and seeing the deer and frogs I got to see 🙂

This is a great place to #OptOutside with your family. Several great trails that are well maintained. The education center has a lot of great wildlife displays. The staff is top notch. Dog friendly but must be on leash. Follow the rules of Leave No Trace. Be sure to visit the Luminary Hike every December. You won't regret it!

Located across from Lowell High School and managed by the Land Conservancy of West Michigan, Wege Natural Area for the study of Ecology is an outdoor learning center that provides students with 140 acres of forests, prairies and wetlands to explore. Open dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, the Wege Natural Area has four well marked and groomed trails totaling 3.7 miles that are perfect for walking as you enjoy the outdoors. Dogs are allowed but must remain on a leash at all times.
