Your serviceman Dave came out to our home at 815 Roberto Ave., Santa Barbara, CA. And he did his usual wonderful competent pleasant service. It's always a pleasure to see Dave and he really appears to know exactly what he's doing. I will continue to use Wilshire and hopefully I will always get Dave as a service person.

I used Wilshire both for my Sub-Zero refigerator and Viking oven issues -they came same day and solved both problems. Easily the best service in Orange County!

Just be careful they have a copy cat competitor that mimics their website and fools customers into thinking they’re working with Wilshire… only to scam them. I’ve seen several reviews of people falling victim to this so heads up this is the only real Wilshire!

FIVE STARS! I had 3 other appliance repair companies, the names of which I got from the internet, come to my home to address a problem with our oven. Two of the three looked at the oven and said they had to order parts and would reschedule a return visit when they received the parts. THEY COLLECTED THE SERVICE CHARGE AND I WAS NEVER ABLE TO CONTACT THEM AGAIN. When Bryan from WILSHIRE REFRIGERATION showed up I was skeptical. Thankfully, my expectations were greatly exceeded. Bryan fixed the oven and did it professionally. I now have a go-to appliance service company in Las Vegas. I highly recommend Bryan and WILSHIRE REFRIGERATION for your appliance service needs.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE & EXPERTISE

After 33 years, our SubZero refrigerator stopped working. In the small mid city we live in, there are no appliance repair companies that were equipped and/qualified to diagnose and repair whatever was ailing the unit.

With some trepidation, I searched and found an “out of town” company, Wilshire Refrigeration & Appliance, which was happy to schedule a prompt service call, even though it would require a 45-minute drive each way for the technician.

The technician, Dave M., arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem (deceased compressor) and advised that because of the age of the unit and the changes in refrigerants and technologies employed since its manufacture in 1991, repairing the unit would be costly and in his opinion, not worth the expense involved.

I appreciated Dave quickly assessing the problem and suggesting that a repair effort would likely be expensive and there would be no guarantee that some other components might fail in the near future.

In other words, the SubZero was on its “last legs” and a replacement would be the best solution.

The service call charge was $145, which I felt was very reasonable.

Subsequently, I spoke by telephone with Jessica and Victoria in the office and they were both very helpful assisting me with information that I needed to submit an insurance claim to our home warranty insurance company.

I heartily recommend Wilshire Refrigeration & Appliance to anyone in their service area (central to south areas of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, as well as in the Los Angeles metro area) who has a high-end kitchen appliance that requires service.

Avoid Diego and Wilshire Refrigeration – Dishonest and Unprofessional.

After placing a service request with KitchenAid, I was referred to Wilshire Refrigeration for a local on site repair. Immediately, I received a spam-like message from Diego, a manager who went overboard promising unbeatable prices and exceptional customer service. Despite the obvious sales pitch, I contacted him to confirm a rough repair estimate based on my appliance issue. Diego assured me the cost would be far below the price of a new appliance and claimed there would be no extra charge if I declined the repair.

Fast forward to the day of the service. The technician arrived three hours late and quoted $600 to reverse exhaust fan blades inside my convection oven—no hard wiring, no soldering, just a basic cylinder adjustment. This absurd price was nearly the cost of a new unit. I refused the repair and was still forced to pay the $135 service fee for an assessment I already knew. And when I called KitchenAid to review my experience, they couldn’t care less about their contractors, taking advantage of customers.

When I tried to follow up afterward, Diego completely ghosted me. He embodies the classic bait-and-switch scam artist. Avoid Diego and Wilshire Refrigeration. They scam you into making a pointless visit and force your hand on the service fee while inflating costs to avoid actual work.

We had an excellent technician, from Wilshire Refrigeration & Appliance, replace faulty parts in our warranted Miele dishwasher. The technician promptly assessed the issue, ordered parts, and came back out to repair. He promptly replaced the parts, used some electronic device to verify the dishwasher was happy, and made sure it was perfectly leveled afterwards. We are very happy dishwasher parents!!

Beware this company engages in predatory practices. Told them that we needed help moving our very heavy oven out from the wall so we could clean behind the oven. They told me they would require a $150 visit fee to do so. After the guys arrived, they said it would cost $600 to move the oven out. If customer service had told me this over the phone, I never would've had them come out for that ridiculous price. I declined the service after that but still was required to pay the $150 for them being here for all of two minutes. Non-refundable, even after I contacted them several times to try to get a refund. Make sure you ask them for prices before they send their service guys out.

The positives: They did evententually fix my washer.

The negatives: They took 3 visits and 3 cancelled visits, over the course of 4 weeks to get to that point. The process was frustrating and a huge waste of time. I highly do not recommend this company because of how bad they are at scheduling and managing their technician’s time.
