The fairgrounds are some of the best I've seen. They have a little bit of everything going on all summer. Horse shows, derbies, the western Michigan fair for one week in August, etc. The buildings are well kept, the livestock barns are well ventilated, there are always either bathrooms or port-a-johns fairly close to you no matter what part of the campus you are on, and the fair exhibits are always very interesting.

We stayed in the rv Campground with 50amp and water hookups. Dump station on the way out. $40 per night. Very quite and well worth the cost.

My 12 year old daughter accidentally stepped on the man's finger who was running the ferris wheel and he said he was going to punch her in the face!!! Absolutely horrified by this and I contacted the fair via their website about this and have not gotten a response. I don't think anyone wants a full grown man who threatens to punch little girls in the face running the ride at the fair!!! Why would his finger even be anywhere where it could be stepped on? What was he thinking!!! Save your money and go to Michigan's adventure it's 10 bucks more and they have a waterpark!

Ludington is very fortunate to still have a fair these days. The 4H facilities are very nice. The midway is pretty blah. The grandstand has some nice events. Overall it's a one night stand and if you don't ride the rides, you will be in and out in a couple of hours. Still though, it would be a shame for the 4H kids if this weren't around.

Went on Friday. The slime bucket ride the boys loved and went on every ride probably 4 or 5 times. They picked it as last ride. Well the 4 yr old has lost his bracelet for rides and the guy would not let him go. I could have showed him pics of being on it earlier but shouldnt have to.
