Very unique part of the coal and steel industry from back in the heyday.
Nice placards explaining what you see of the remnants and how they were used.
I know of the local mines and explored one as a kid but very few coke ovens still around.
If you come to visit the Cahaba Lilles in bloom then this is just up the road from where you came.
Also if not in a Saturday stop and eat at Hometown Cafe! The best food, home cooked better than your mama’s!

Trails were overgrown, looks like the trash has not been removed in months, some of the boardwalk look unfinished. Pretty much on Par with the rest of West Blocton.

The beauty and history of this park is extraordinary. A must see and an excellent field trip for students to learn more about the hard working men and women that helped build this great state and the ingenuity behind their labor.

Lots of history back in these old towns, these young Bucks now don't care about true History (maybe if they are told the TRUTH instead of LIES) about how you had to work are you did not eat or you looked out for your neighbor they need to look through some of the old history books Like (Yesterday Birmingham) you RECKON it might put some SMART in them? RIGHT.... 🤔👍😋 GOD BLESS the thousands of people that gave there life's just so you and me could be FREE.. 😀

Attended an event at the pavilion. Very nice covered gathering place. Didn't have chance to visit and look at the Coke Ovens themselves, but very much would like to return to explore.
