**The Junkfood Connoisseur** pays a visit. I don't know anything about mead. The bartender went above and beyond answering all of my stupid questions. She was very knowledgeable and good to talk with. I purchased a glass of Holy Grail. It tasted great! I brought home a bottle of Skadi for a Yule solstice party tonight.

Valhalla makes almost a dozen types of mead, all of which are fabulous and an AMAZING change of pace from the typical craft beer that has saturated the area. Brewed from honey, these are the drinks you need to try when your normal watering hole isn't cutting it anymore.

While long beards and braids are welcomed, we went there for the first time and were welcomed like no other!! Super friendly!! Owner came and sat down with us and asked us about the mead and showed us future expansion plans. Two thumbs up to the friendliness of the place.

Give this place a shot, or pick up some of their mead at a store nearby.

I absolutely agree with the other one star review. The worker had amazing customer service and was so kind, but I was completely shocked by the taste of the mead. I love absolutely love mead, so I was thrilled to find this one with a high rating when visiting Kalamazoo. My husband and I were shocked by the taste. I can’t pinpoint the taste, it has a super syrupy flavor and you can’t necessarily taste the fruit in it. The atmosphere is also lacking, but we were willing to ignore that for mead. We left so disappointed.

Just came down from Lansing just to try this place out. This place easily has the best mead I've ever had, and I have had mead from Redstone in Colorado and from another meadery in Ohio. They have a great atmosphere, and I was absolutely amazed that the owner came out just to greet new customers. They know what they are doing over here, and I definitely left with a couple bottles. Will definitely be back, great place to catch up with friends and have some delicious mead.

Valhalla is a brand new experience in old world taste. The mead is incredibly tasty and very potent. The atmosphere is very welcoming and you feel at home as soon as you come through the door. Don't let the parking lot fool you, this meadery will exceed your expectations. The first place we have experienced where you bring your own food.

I had a great time here. We wandered in after Bells was too packed and we were trying to find some place nearby to drink, and we ended up staying for 6 hours and joining the mug club. The owners and staff were great and made us feel like regulars right off the bat, and the mead was fantastic.

I really enjoyed the Dark Angel, a Blueberry Ginger mead and the Idunn, an apple cinnamon mead. Their beer and mixed drinks are also fantastic and definitely worth trying. I'm excited to see what these guys are going to accomplish in the next few years.

Amazing mead, interesting and innovative mixed drinks (try the Saga), and a wholesome and welcoming staff make this my favorite place to imbibe. Be sure to chit chat with Tom (the owner), he's funny and has some great stories to tell.

I have a feeling this place is going to blow up in popularity once they move downtown, and it's totally deserved. If you're sick of the craft beer scene and want to try something new give Valhalla a shot!
