We're in Tucson for a long weekend. My wife recommended this place because she ate there on her last trip. I was skeptical. First time I ordered I had a chicken tamale and a pork tamale. After you took our order I went over to the salsa bar and got the condiments that I wanted. They had different salsas to try and jalapenos and limes to grab as well.

When our food came I was absolutely blown away. It was so good! I haven't had tamales too much in my life and these were so good that we returned another time before we left. This time I had the pork chicken and beef tamales. All are absolutely fantastic!

The staff was very nice and friendly. The atmosphere was fun. They had hot sauces that you could buy from several different brands. Most of what I've never heard of before. There was an area where you could also sample some of the hot sauces as well.

I look forward to going again when we return.

Great tamales, great (welcoming, nice, helpful) service. Good vegetarian options, and clear markings for veg vs. vegan and gluten free. Sides are delicious too. Don’t forget some cinnamon crisps to go!

Tuscon Tamale is a nice spot to grab legit tamales. They have a great selection, including a vegan option, and the sides and salsa are all freshly made - including the chips. They also have a huge selection of hot sauces to buy and a big case of the samplers to use with your meal. I wish they had prices labeled on the shop side, but they do have a friendly staff, so asking is not difficult. They have nice clean, single person bathrooms and the nicest murals in them. It's definitely a stop worth making if you are in the area.

Tamales themselves are good, we tried the green chicken, green pork, and red beef - all great and a decent price. I think the sides were a little lacking - out of the rice, chips, and slaw we liked the slaw best.

The mild red sauce is good for chips, the medium green sauce was great for tamales (and really didn't seem that spicy at all, added a lot).

I'd be curious to come back and try the street corn nachos.

The tamales, salsa, and brownies are delicious! These tamales are sizeable and will be good if you have a big appetite. There are vegetarian options as well and the ingredients were fresh. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Don't forget to check out the impressive selection of hot sauces!!!

I was so disappointed. Spent $10+ for two mini size tamales that were horrible. They were obviously pulled out of the freezer and throw in the microwave. They were served almost cold. This was early Friday around 6pm when people are out buying dinner. I could not believe there was maybe a teaspoon of what I believe may have been pork on the inside. I should have went back in and asked for my money back.
