Its alright. Fantastic location. Good ambiance. Food was just average. It was something I could've made myself at home. The biggest letdown was the squeeky cheese plate. They heat and partially melt the cheese which no longer makes it squeeky. They squandered the one unique thing they had on the menu. Everything else was just some toast with jam or chopped up ingredients. The cloudberry jam was pretty good.

They can do better.

I recently visited the Treasury Toast Cafe at 153 W Washington St Suite C, in Marquette, MI. It's a very clean and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered a cinnamon roll and was asked if I wanted it heated, a nice touch. The people working there were real friendly and helpful with good personalities. It's a real nice place to enjoy your coffee and enjoy starting your morning.

The place:
Trenary Toast Cafe is a long place with bar style seats lining the windows that look out onto the sidewalk and a bench seat along the outer wall that’s one half of the table seating. Order at the counter where the menu is clear and pretty extensive! There’s also a shop near the back so you can stock up on merch or Trenary Toast to bring home.

The location:
The cafe is on the corner in what I always consider “downtown Marquette.” It’s kitty corner from where the farmers market is held over the summer. Most of the street parking is easily accessible but timed or paid parking.

The food/drink:
The winter seasonal drinks included a vanilla peppermint matcha that I got iced with oat milk, and it confirmed my suspicion that I love my matcha iced. A light drink that was beautiful as well as delicious. Vanilla and peppermint are an intuitive pairing for matcha.
The menu looks like it has generous vegan and vegetarian options (refreshing from a place that serves lighter fare like sandwiches!). I got the blackberry and Brie smørrbrød which was a beautiful mix of sweet and savory. My partner got the lovely lox which was indeed lovely.

The service:
Delightful. We ordered at the counter and the human who rung us up was efficient and kind.
We weren’t sure if there was a bus tray so we ran away before anyone could see us leave our dishes on the table.

Next time:
I’m going to get a proper sandwich. There were a couple vegetarian sandwiches I’ll have a hard time picking between.

My fiancé grew up coming up to this place, and he said we had to make a stop during our weekend in Marquette. It lived up to the hype. Loved the open concept design, natural light, and the little odes to Trenary’s history.

My cardamom honey latte with oat milk was heavenly, and my avocado toast was enjoyable.

Was tempted to buy some of their syrup or jam but was able to exercise some self control. Next time!

Ternary Toast Cafe has great coffee, good food, and reasonable prices!
I got the Maple sugar latte: I could taste the maple syrup and the coffee in the best respects. All the food is made right as you order it. I asked some locals (an elderly couple) and they said all the food they’ve ever had here is very good. My cousin (who enjoyed their bread pudding) agreed that the food is yummy.
The great service and music really gave chill vibes all around.

Trenary Toast is a blend of thick Melba toast and Panera cinnamon crunch bagel, only better. For generations of 906 children, Trenary Toast was served at breakfast on a plate with warmed milk creating a simple and satisfying meal. Now everyone can enjoy this treat in downtown Marquette at the Trenary Toast Cafe. The cafe also a treasure trove of 906 eats. For starters, grab bag of toast and a coffee or cappuccino, and dunk to your hearts content. The bread soaks up all the goodness of the coffee and adds a touch of sweetness that is almost heaven. But don’t stop there, you have got to try the sandwiches. My wife and I each shared a BLT and the Lovely Lox and agreed they were both outstanding. Choose you own favorite from the menu and you will not be disappointed.

What a fantastic spot! I admit I was wary going in, with the track record of historical spots that don't always live up to their reputations. I'm glad to be shown how lovely and deserving of its enduring reputation Trenary is! Incredible food that is only as complicated as it needs to be, inviting cozy interior, and staff who are friendly and helpful! I absolutely adored the lox, and the breakfast sammie on a cinnamon roll was great (add the pepper jelly!). I got their famous and delicious toast to go, of course

Just had cinnamon rolls that were enjoyed there. The large cinnamon rolls are huge. Very good. Not to sweet and just enough cinnamon. The country music was a little loud. Love the rustic style tables and stools. View of downtown.
