Had a spontaneous wine tasting with the hubby tonight and it was awesome. Great shop with a ton of local wines. The shop owner is amazing and so knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back. Tasting menu changes regularly and prices are fair. If you're in town definitely make it a stop!

A wine tasting room serving wines from 3 location. 1 near Indian River, 1 near Alpena, and lastly 1 from Florida. Yup you read that right, Florida. You get 1 free pour or 6 for $8 and a free glass. My serves ended up being a mixed bag. I didn't like 2, thought 2 as ok, and 2 as good. However I didn't love any. The person I was with liked 3 enough to buy a bottle. So a mixed bag. The service was good and friendly. Overall 4 stars.

Stopped at The Rusty Pelican to do a wine tasting. The wine is amazing and the shop is warm and inviting! Cassie is very knowledgeable, friendly and fun! I bought 2 bottles of wine and can’t wait to get home and enjoy them. We want to do this again soon!

I can’t believe that this store doesn’t have five stars. If you are new to town and looking for a great place to get wine from this is the place to go! The owner knows what she’s talking about and if you tell her what you’re looking for you can get recommendations. Plus, it’s got a lot of nice cheese to pair with your purchase. If you haven’t tried it and are a connoisseur, I would definitely give them a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

The Rusty Pelican is a must stop if you're in or around the area! Walking into the store feels like you're stepping out onto the lanai in an episode of Golden Girls or the white sand beaches of Florida's Suncoast. In addition to an expansive variety of Florida wines, there are many products the occasional or inveterate wine enjoyer will love, such as, but not limited to: many flavors of cheeses and spreads, wine cozies and accessories, and other merchandise.

For those who want to try before they buy, wine tastings offer the ability to try a variety of wines; one option even allows you to take home a commemorative Rusty Pelican wine glass! The owner, Cassie, and all other staff are exceedingly friendly and knowledgable about their products. Anyone who walks through those doors are guaranteed a unique experience you cannot find anywhere else in Northern Michigan in a warm environment that makes you feel right at home.

Second time here, I love these people! Family owned and operated. They carry a unique variety of wines. The wine tasting was very informative and I felt like I had just taken a free class on wines. So grateful. We will be back soon.

This was the worst experience in my life. The gentleman with the long hair was angry from the minute we walked in and very rude. We were going to do some flights of wine while on a short bday weekend and he was SO rude. BEWARE! DO NOT BOTHER!
