I haven't had a chance to do the U-pick yet, but I've always had good service whenever I come through. Their savory okie pies are a delight and never miss. I only tried the apple pie once but it's a touch on the sweet side so I'd give that particular pie a 4.5/5 but a 5/5 on everything else.

This is the first time I've tried the fruit and it was all delicious. The cherries are sweet and tart and the strawberries are plump and juicy.

I definitely recommend buying anything that's in season because it is all good.

Beautiful spot to stop for a break. I’ve driven past many times, but took the opportunity recently to stop in and take a quick look around. I will certainly have to come back or more lengthy visit. Lovely displays and huge variety of products in the store. Everything appears to be either from the farm itself or locally sourced.
We took home some jams and jellies and an apple pie. The apple pie is delicious!

Stopped because I saw the signs as I approached heading up 58. Glad I did. I enjoyed the unique citrus fruit offered as well as the apples and other fruits and neat treats of all kinds. Prices are good as well. I don't usually like grapefruit but enjoyed the Oro Blanco. Mild. Juicy. Good. Would definitely recommend a stop.

We stopped here to get gas and went inside to check it out. They have a really nice farm store with so many options to choose from. We got a cherry okie pie that was so good. They also give you free fruit with a gas purchase. The fruit was so tasty. They have a play area that is huge for kids and also have you pick fruit area with many fruit options. This is a really nice place and you should absolutely stop if you are driving through!

Heads up: entrance fee doesn't mean you get to walk the farm/orchard area. We paid $10 per person but we didn't know it was only for the kid section. They were nice enough to refund us.
I asked if we wanted to walk the farm area do we have to pay the entrance fee plus the upick basket even though we didn't want to pick fruit, but we were told that even if we had paid for the additional basket we still couldn't walk around. There's a designated area but I don't know how large that area is. Point is, if you want to walk around trees this might not be the place for you.

The store itself was nice though, it had cute stuff, honey, jellies that sort of stuff. I couldn't really afford anything but they looked nice!

The strawberry rhubarb pie was delicious though!

Such a beautiful place; we always pass it coming down to my sister inlaws and never stopped til this time around. So happy we decided to stop, loved everything about this place and they even had some cute little goats outside that were so friendly and loved the attention the were getting especially the scratches under their chin.

Murray Family Farms: Worth the Pit Stop (and the Double Portions)

On my trips to Las Vegas and back, the signs for Murray Family Farms have always caught my attention. Finally, after many years of driving past the exit, I stopped and spent twenty minutes looking around the farm store.

The store is spacious and well organized. It offers fresh produce and more. Many of the products there are from local farms or businesses. I had little time to spend there, but the oranges (grown across the street according to the friendly staff) and the freshly baked pies (especially the cherry pies) immediately caught my attention.

When I returned to San Francisco, I tried both within the following couple of days. Folks, they were flavorful and delicious. The only problem was that they were apparently very good because they all disappeared before I could try more! The pie went first, and the oranges were gone a couple of days later! Now I know better! Next time, double portions are a must! I'll need to stock up before these delicious treats vanish again!
