I purchased my groceries and then headed to the restaurant. After ordering and paying for my meal, I walked out to my car. As I was about to drive off, a worker approached and demanded to see my receipt, implying I was stealing. Despite proving that I had paid, he didn't apologize and simply walked away, acting rude and unprofessional. I was disappointed with the treatment and won't be returning anytime soon.

Disappointing Experience at La Favorita Meat Market

I’m deeply disappointed with my experience at La Favorita Meat Market in Fairfield. As a fellow Hispanic, it’s disheartening to witness a customer service approach that makes you feel like you’re being treated unfairly, much like the negative experiences we sometimes face back in our home countries.

Recently, my wife purchased chirimoyas, which never ripened and instead turned black and hard. After holding onto them for about two weeks, she decided to return them, making a special trip from the other side of town. Upon her arrival, the cashier’s attitude was both unprofessional and accusatory. My wife was treated as if she was attempting to steal, with the cashier questioning her honesty and suggesting they check the cameras. They even claimed that the weight of the returned chirimoyas didn’t match what was on the receipt, despite the fact that the fruit had dried out and weighed less as a result. Furthermore, they misidentified the product on the receipt as “manguitos,” which was clearly an error on their part.

The manager who was called over did little to help the situation, initially offering to refund only $5, despite the full amount being owed. Only after much frustration and argument did he agree to return the full payment. This was not about the money, but rather the principle of how a customer should be treated. Instead of addressing a simple product return, we were made to feel as if we were thieves.

These people should not be dealing with the public as they lack professionalism, and I can assure you that they have never been in a university. We will be filing a complaint with the relevant authorities about this mistreatment and seeking legal advice. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and businesses like this should not be allowed to mistreat their customers without consequences.

I love the meat here.
The prices are 👎👎👎 . As much as the Latino community supports them. They should have better prices to also support the people.

Always clean and staff are friendly and helpful! The butcher gave my 13yo an impromptu spanish lesson when he recognized me trying to get my son to order in Spanish 🙂

Would not recommend coming here if you're black. Staff followed me. Very racist feel. Was accused of stealing and had all my bags checked once, after I exited the store. I used to go because its so close to my home and I loved the meat. But it became too heavy and triggered anxiety Everytime I entered.

Good supermarket. I shop here once a month or more sometimes. .My dad buys his vegetable juice here all the time. Recommend for your local needs. Also good taqueria. They sell fresh churros outside. Prices are a little high but they are high everywhere nowadays. They have a store inside with clothing and electronics. Worth checking out. Also they have Check cashing.
