Steve's is a great place to get local high-quality meats at a fair price. They have a variety of services to support hunters, too. My family always tells me I could open a restaurant whenever I start with something from Steve's. Staff has always been friendly and helpful, too. Been purchasing sides of beef for years. Thought I'd give Steve's a shot. Unfortunately, it was the worst beef I've ever ordered. EVERY cut is very tough, even after slow cooking the roast for 8 hours. Steaks are even more disappointing and fall very short on flavor. Now I suspect they can't guarantee every cow, however, other details that now push me away from purchase from them again are... 1 They poorly packaged the steaks, even rolling them up making it difficult to defrost. 2 No extra fat trimming, but I didn't pay for that, so they get a pass, but others have done far more for me. 3 I emailed my concern to them asking what I can do better next time to ensure quality. I didn't complain, just asked if I could have done something more to ensure a better cow, and they have not responded. Maybe I was just unlucky, but that's two thousand dollar experience with Steve's.

Just something about getting meat here compared to the chain markets. Can use the same recipe with meat from Steve’s and from a box store. Hands down the meat from Steve’s always has a better taste and is always more tender. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. Always worth the extra drive to get our meat from here.

If you are looking for a place to get a fantastic steak, or other fresh meat, look no further! Fantastic characters behind the case are always ready to answer questions or give advice to everyone that asks for it. Old fashioned butcher... old fashioned store... old fashioned service all add up to THE place to get your fresh meat. Don't forget, they process hundreds of whitetail every season and do a fantastic job.

My husband has been a butcher for over 35 years. We had our own meat shop for a while as well and it is so hard to find a real butcher shop anymore with actual butcher’s. Not people who have watched YouTube videos and think they are a butcher. These guys seemed to be real butchers!
We are an hour and a half away, but will definitely come back to get some good meat!
