TLDR; poor communication, unfulfilled promises, kind of unprofessional. Mediocre experience/drinks and was told by wedding coordinators that the coffee cart showed up 30 minutes late for service.

Unfortunately, this was one of the lows of my wedding. I had booked Silverwings Coffee well over a year in advance and was very communicative with Alec, the owner. I booked his services for 2 hours and asked if he could customize the menu to include matcha and lavender syrup. To my delight, he said he could do both because he was testing out adding matcha to his menu and he said his syrup vendor has a high quality lavender syrup he could order for my wedding. I also asked if oat milk can be the default milk choice since we had a lot of lactose intolerant guests, which he said he could do!

After paying the deposit (in October 2023, a year in advance), I asked if there was anything that needs to be done at that time, such as signing a contract. Alec said no, but that he'd be in touch in the next several months to make sure everything is taken care of. I was not contacted. That was my first red flag.

Come around to June 2024, I reached out to all my vendors to see if they want to participate in the wedding walkthrough. Alec did not respond immediately, but did after a second email. At this time I let him know that I had designed a menu with his drink offerings and logo that included Persona 5 motifs (our wedding was video game themed) that can be displayed. In the menu, I highlighted signature drinks as a way to honor loved ones who passed. One was a lavender matcha, the other a cappuccino, both of which Alec said he could make.

I also asked if it was possible to add a black sesame latte to the menu to go with the Asian fusion food offerings we had for the wedding. In his response, he confirmed that he could add the lavender syrup, matcha, and black sesame latte. He also said in the same response that he would print the menu and bring it so I wouldn't have to worry about it day of.

Fast forward to the wedding, my photographer team and wedding coordinators are escorting my husband and I to the coffee cart for photos. They asked what drink I wanted so Alec could prep it as we made our way over. I said I'd like the lavender matcha and my husband wanted a cappuccino. I was told matcha was not available and was very perplexed.

I get to the cart and I do not see the menu I had designed that Alec said he would print and bring. There was no matcha, no lavender syrup, and no black sesame latte. When I asked nicely what happened, he said he didn't know about the menu. He didn't even look up from his brewing or look me in the eye during our discussion. It felt extremely ingenuine.

I shrugged it off, seeing that not everything can be perfect on your wedding day. I ordered his "signature" cookie butter latte instead hoping that it would suffice. Sadly, it was not good. My latte was lukewarm at best and the cookie butter was a solid chunk at the bottom of my cup. I didn't taste much of anything in that cup. I normally would sip my coffee to savor the flavor but this one I chugged immediately and went back to the dance floor with my husband.

I think my guests had a better experience with the coffee but my experience was not great. On top of that, my wedding coordinators told me he showed up an hour late to their scheduled meeting (this was a vendor's meeting with the coordinators to make sure everything was squared away for the big day). AND the coffee cart was 30 minutes late for the start of service for the actual day-of!

I won't let this experience ruin the memory of an amazing wedding, but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
