Abalone Bay was the most wonderful home I've stayed in - the ocean views, the proximity to the bluff trail, the gorgeous interior and setup, and Donna's proactive communication were all well beyond expectations. I can't recommend this home enough and hope to return in the very near future. We are so grateful Donna shared her home with us!

Abalone Bay is a beautiful home with amazing views of water and nature from most any room in the house. It is comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated, and the well equipped kitchen has everything the home chef will need. There was plenty of room for our family of 6, both when we were all convened together as well as those times when some individual quiet time was desired. The house is in a quiet location with easy quick access to the bluff trails, Rec Center/Pool, and Lodge. Donna is a very attentive host who supplies all the information you will need to ensure a terrific stay.

We stayed at Abalone Bay for 4 wonderful nights. The setting is stunning; foggy mornings settle on sweeping carpets of golden grass and craggy rocks. The sound of the sea is the backdrop for ethereal light that calms the mind and body. Three of us and our three dogs settled in the home and landscape as though it was our own. The setting is nearly indescribable and the home itself is perfectly outfitted with anything you may need.

We dined at Timber Cove, Sea Ranch Lodge and Gama - all lovely and delicious and unique. Highly recommend Red Stella in for chic shopping, Noma for hand dyed T-shirt’s and sweatshirts and Salvarae for balms and potions, all in Gualala.

Horse Back riding on the beach in Point Arena was lovely as well as a stop at Luscious Lisa’s for jams, chutneys and a great chat.

Twofish bakery is a must for both sweet and savory.

The wonderful, chubby seals a few feet from the house were a source of hours of entertainment. What wonderful creatures and such a gift to be able to observe them in their habitat.

Donna is an A+ host and the home is flawless. A truly beautiful wonderful trip for all of us !

We have become a regular at Abalone Bay because it ticks all of the boxes. Being located on the ocean bluff is perfect for taking walks on the Sea Ranch trail and for viewing the sun disappearing into the ocean. Our dog loves it here because of the unique sights, sounds, and smells along the trail.

The house is fully equipped having everything necessary for making a multi course dinner or just mixing a cocktail. Surf Market in Gualala has most of what you need for either. Our favorite places for breakfast are Trink’s Cafe in Gualala and Twofish Bakery in Stewart’s Point.

There are many reasons to visit the Sea Ranch, but it's the sense of peace at Abalone Bay that calls our family back year after year.

We have stayed at many Sea Ranch homes, as well as the lodge and our unanimous favorite is Abalone Bay. So many special spots/memories here: sitting just off the patio (yes, just like in the picture); soaking in the grandeur of a moonless night from the hot tub; witnessing the ferocious waves crashing to the south, while snuggled on the couch inside; witnessing my first whale spouts while cooking breakfast(!). Just as important, there's a sense of belonging at Abalone Bay: you feel a sense of being home.

Marry this with all the Sea Ranch has to offer (the bluff trail is a short walk from the deck) and you will find yourself under Abalone Bay's spell.

I could continue, but I'll just add that, with the recent improvements, this World Class experience is even better, yet the character of the home remains warm, welcoming and oh-so-comfortable.

My wife and I previously stayed at Abalone Bay several years ago and were very dismayed to find it no longer available for rental. We continued to rent other homes at Sea Ranch because of our love for the area. Unfortunately, after being spoiled, none quite measured up. You can imagine our surprise this year when we found Abalone Bay back on the rental list after an incredible renovation. The home is situated right on the edge of the coast. There are virtually no obstacles blocking the view of the ocean from any of the many floor to ceiling windows surrounding the house. A seal rookery is a five minute walk. A double garage which serves as a game area (ping pong table included) was added and included a covered lighted walkway to the house . A glass sliding door was added to the bedroom for easy access to the spa. A large area that we think served as a laundry room was converted to a TV/reading room with large window seating. Just when you think it couldn’t get better – it did and how! We’re already looking at dates for 2023. Thanks Donna & Jorge for a job well done. Tom & Jean Cullinane

This was one of the few times that when I didn't want to leave at the end of the trip. The place was so easy to live in. The beach and walking trails are so close. I would walk out the door and down a path and see seals. There are chairs placed expertly for relaxing while watching the ocean at sunset.
I love to cook but seldom can in rentals. At this rental I found everything I needed and more. There was even an octopus mold which we had to use. It was a blast! There are great stores nearby in Gualala, so don't worry about ingredients.
There is a game room with more games than you can ever play. Really loved it!

I booked directly with Donna and I'm SO glad I did. She was a wealth of local info and a great gal to work with!
Enough about Donna and local info......let's get to the house. Yowza! I seriously have never been in such a gorgeous ocean-front home. I say home and not rental because this is no ordinary house rental. Donna's attention to detail is great. I'll be back - again and again and again! Thanks, Donna!!!
