Summary version:

Pro: helpful staff, great price (cheaper than homedepot)

Con: plants not labeled nor categorized well, staff hesitate to walk further from office to help customers, Return process is a hassle (return policy doesn't mention restocking fee percentage, restocking fee sentence not clearly printed, plants are nitpicked with every little thing when returned).

Full version:
My experience was a mixed depending on who helped me that day. None of the plants has any label in the pot like Homedepot ones so it was very tough determining which plants to get. They were not really categorized well (only shaded group or full sun group). Overall, I wouldn't recommend coming here without knowing what you want to get.

There are a lot of staff at the office that are always ready to help once someone pulled over at the parking area. Of all the people I've spoken to (Irene, Cathy, Stephanie, Jacquelynn, Zack, Junior), Zack and Cathy appeared to be most knowledgable when it comes to plant, plant types, size and requirements. They were able to pinpoint the exact plants I would need based on my description of water usage, location and size. Jacquelynn was also super helpful and she even drove me around the nursery to find the suitable plant replacement- which I was very grateful to.

I ended up spending hundreds of dollars purchasing a lot of plants from this nursery and the payment process was very easy. I was warned about the 5 day return policy, to which I acknowledged.

There are staffs working around the nursery that helped me picking up the plants I ordered promptly and loaded them all into my car - which was nice.

Once the project was over, I had some extra plants that I didn't need and a bunch of plants that were supposed to be for full sun area but was sold to us as full shade plants. The full shade ones were rejected because it was over 5 days per their return policy. However, the other ones that were still within the 5 days return policy. The moment I brought up the return, Zack inspected the plants and said that they will charge me a restocking fee(?!), which was 20% of the purchase amount because my plants don't look too healthy (ONE leaf was split in half, the soil looked dry - mind you, this is a drought tolerant variety). I didn't water the plants the day before because I don't want water dripping my car. I've posted all the photos of other same grass I've purchased from them as well for reference, some have half broken leaf, some have rusted leaves. The ones I was returning actually looked much better than the ones in the ground. If they are not happy with people returning stuffs, they should have put "same day return with potential restocking fee of 20%" in the same sentence instead of putting the "restocking fee" in an almost nonreadable, blurry print at the bottom of the page. I've done business before and to be honest, I wouldn't turn a customer away unhappy with a mere $4 restocking fee after they had to take back 100$ worth of plants already. It's really lacking business ethic.

Really cool nursery. Have to come check it out when it's not closing time. Sergio helped me out with finding what I was looking for quickly and I was able to drive to the second lot, grab it, and purchase it right at closing time. There were more plants I wanted to check out but I'll have to go another time.

We have been working with Sakioka Nursery for quite sometime now. They are very professional and helpful. The primary reason we use Sakioka is because of their organized and itemized quotes, which help with project estimates. They have a designated team specifically for contractors, who aid with expedited orders.

Wasn't this nursery called Japan landscaping nursery before its current name.
I remember that Japan landscaping was in this general area back in the 70s 80s 90s.
