I have been shopping for years as a Mom to kids and pets, and a vegetarian. This store has everything I shop for. It’s the best market I’ve shopped at. The employees are friendly, professional and the store is impeccable. I never worry about expired items, great fruit and veggie selection. The bakery has the best sweets. Robert the cashier is amazing, Roxy is wonderful in the bakery, the deli has a delicious varsity of meal choices. Serenity and Cindy are great. The store is managed by a great team. ⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️

I went to the deli there to purchase my favorite ham. There were three or four flies around the meat slicer landing on the surface, taking off, landing again. I brought it to the attention of the deli employees and they claimed they couldn’t do anything when I asked them to clean it. There were random pieces of meat scattered and just sitting around below it. It was visibly unclean. I then went to the customer service counter. The store manager said it was basically the deli’s jurisdiction and in their hands. The employees are usually super nice and friendly and today was no exception, other than the fact that they attributed not being able to clean things due to “corporate policies.” Not sure where the breakdown is here, but I strongly caution people to refrain from buying deli meat there for a while. I’m easily willing to change my review once I know the health department has gone through there. Ignorance is bliss, I know, because usually you can’t see it, but this was bad!

Since moving to Arizona, Safeway is probably my favorite grocery store to shop at. Friendly staff to every store I’ve went to and the stores are always well organized and very clean.

If you are Black, I would avoid this store. Select associates and management give racist vibes. Went to the store and literally got followed through. And god forbid you take a picture of an item in the store. They literally threaten to call the police over a picture of some cold medicine. Corporate investors department gives same vibes.

Safeway always displays outdated sale prices. Check your receipts, i guarantee you have been charged the wrong price on at least 1 item every single visit.

Nothing but headaches, which is ironic because migraine meds are what I require.
Month after month, not in stock, or problem this or problem that. Absolute nightmare!
Unfortunately my insurance only works with Safeway. They're completely understaffed, rarely answer the phone, either put you on hold for extended period of time or hang up while on hold. Staff seems unwilling to work complicated issues - which if I'm being honest- IMO they cause many of the issues. Can't seem to keep meds in stock for monthly customers. I mean how hard is it to forecast what you'll need for you existing monthly customers? As a former district manager for a very popular national restaurant chain, I can tell you this staff is over worked, incompetent, even rude at times and I would've replaced the entire staff by now. That staff is ruining an otherwise great concept of "convenience" by combining grocery store trips with pharmacy needs. GO TO THE PROS - Walgreens, CVS, etc.

Hard Pass!

Would've given ZERO STARS but I guess they get at least one star so I can try to be helpful to others and expose this train wreck for what it really is.... A JOKE!
If you have an option to go elsewhere, my suggestion is go across the street to Walgreens. Before my insurance switched to Safeway Pharmacy, it was Walgreens. Never had an issue in years when my insurance was at Walgreens!

0 of 10. 0 of 5. Would NOT recommend!

This is one of maybe a handful of negative reviews I have EVER given. I normally wouldn't even waste my time. I'd just take my business elsewhere. But my insurance is contractually stuck with them, therefore I'm stuck with horrible service. So if this helps someone not have to live a monthly reoccurring nightmare, then I guess I've done a good thing by leaving this review. It really is unfortunate!

My guess is corporate won't even address me, this review or the Pharmacy's daily operations.

On May 1st I called the corporate phone number and explained in detail how horrible the customer service is at this Pharmacy location.
I had to ask if the complaint had a case number. The representative gave me:
10579xxx.
As of May 3rd No one has called me to try to fix this systematic customer service disaster.

This is a great market! I shop here daily and the employees are so kind. The women who work in the bakery do a great job and work so hard. Roxy is a doll and very helpful.

This is to raise awareness of the price inaccuracies regarding the “member pricing”. First download app, then scan the price tags in the isle (50% of the time they don’t work), ok that doesn’t work scan the item, go to the register punch in your number and supposed to get the accurate price. I’ve shopped here 10 time in the last 2 years. Every-time I have to go to customer service because if incorrect price charged. Every. Single. Time. Usually $1-$1.50 off. I have brought to customer service attention and they always say I’ve don’t something wrong (always something different that I have done) Today I was told that entering my phone number isn’t a good way “they’ve been having trouble” and “do you know how to access your qr code”? Seriously? Safeway is getting crazy with what they are expecting customers to do in order to get correct, accurate, advertised pricing. Watch your prices. I’m sure they make a lot of money from the bait and switch pricing and they can (and do) hang the fault on the customer for their technical detailed requirements or errors.

I’m mostly upset because of our older folk population who are living on fixed budgets and not ? tech savvy and can be taken advantage of easily. This feels predatory to me and despite how often I have spoken to managers or customer service about this nothing has changed to improve in years.
