The 3 stars are for the view and location. (Outdoor bar too) When we first arrived we looked for the outdoor pool, which is pictured on the brochure and website, when we asked they said we used to have a pool now just an indoor pool (which was Not clean). Then, we go down to the restaurant and discovered they don't have air-conditioning - it was only in the rooms. Note - it was almost 90 ° ! There is no privacy on the balcony at all, I was closer to the couple that had there music blaring and making out then I was to my wife. Also, the hotel is Very dated and at 63 years of age I was not a big fan of the spiral staircase leading to the bed, especially if you need to empty your bladder in the middle of the night! Other than that we had fun!

This place has really gone down hill and I hope it can correct itself. It used to be so nice. Lots of potential. But simple things like AC on the first floor are not working. They got rid of the outdoor pool, which was an asset to the property. The landscaping is so neglected, there are weeds growing all over the property. The interior is also neglected where rugs are taped together. Poor choices in pain colors, pink wall paper, black paint trim, purple carpets. Holes in the driveway pulling in front of the lobby. I honestly don't think I once saw a maintenance person or someone doing any work on the property that was not a house keeper.

This is our 3rd stay at the Riveredge Resort, as IMO its the best of what available in Alex Bay. There are no "5 star hotels" in Alex Bay - the season is way too short to support such a hotel. The Riveredge rooms are clean and comfortable, dated yes, but for Alex Bay they are better than most. The Castle View rooms are great (always our choice), 2 decent restaurants a tiki bar on weekends - no other hotel offers these. Definitely recommend the Riveredge for your Alex Bay stay.

The rooms seemed pretty run down, like they hadn't been updated in a long time. It seemed overpriced for the quality of the place. You couldn't get food past 9pm from any of the restaurants, what we had from them was amazing though. The staff was great, all super friendly and helpful.

We came here from Toronto for NEXUS interview and decided to stay for a couple of nights at Riveredge. Our experience was rather positive. Check-in was nice and fast. We did like the room. Ours was jacuzzi suite on a top floor with 2 balconies and nice large windows. Our stay was great . Enjoyed jacuzzi big time after a day of snow walking. Village was totally deserted which we liked and all the hustle and bustle of the big smoke. We had a nice relaxing time at Alexandria Bay. Nice view of the castle . Had a trip to Clayton which we enjoyed also. Hotel a bit dated but it's not that bad. Has certain charm. The only thing is missing was the microwave. Free parking (guys please please de-ice the parking lot and hotel entrance since it was rather icy and slippery).

Stayed 2 nights on 4th of July weekend. All in all very much enjoyed our stay! I just feel it was over priced because of the condition of the room.
Pros:
-Amazing location!! Views are spectacular!
-Staff were all very nice and helpful too.
-Every person we encountered, staff or guests, were all so happy 😊
-Restaurant and bar are very nice and fair prices. Food was amazing!
-There is a tiki bar outside that was so much fun! The bar tender Big Daddy was very entertaining and friendly! He alone would be enough to keep us coming back!
-Live entertainment near the tiki bar both night we were there

Cons:
-pretty pricey when compared to other places in the area.
-rooms were clean, but very outdated and worn. Linens; drapes; towels were very worn. Sinks, shower, tub and toilet all look original to the building in the 80s and definitely need replacing. Even the wall paper was peeling in some areas. Everything definitely shows wear and tear from being so old.
-The shower stall in our room was so small that I kept bumping into the door and opening it on accident.
-Air conditioning unit in our room was a little sketchy.

Very nice. Located next to the river so we can watch the ships go by. The restaurants downstairs are very nice and reasonably priced. Directly across from hotel is the bolt Castle.

Located right on the water with direct views of Boldt Castle. If you’re looking for a quick getaway out of Syracuse or wanting a fishing experience on the St Lawrence River- this is the spot! Alexandria Bay is a charming little town and a great family stay. Hotel has a restaurant, balconies, indoor pool and a super hot shower. Rooms are a little dated but why does that matter when the outdoor views are stunning! Beds are comfortable, great pillow options for whatever type you like. Book this place. You’ll be glad you did!

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for our anniversary. We stayed in a loft room for $300 a night, and unfortunately, it was not worth the cost. The staff were friendly and the service was great, but the overall experience was disappointing. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was for the hot tub, which was out of service. Our loft room was underwhelming - thick cobwebs in the upstairs area, a TV that didn’t work, and several lights that only worked sporadically. The AC unit was very outdated, and halfway through the night it stopped cooling and instead blew hot air. We woke up drenched in sweat, which made for a very uncomfortable stay. The woman at the desk mentioned the hotel was old and short staffed, but for $300 a night, we expected much better. On top of that, the restaurants on-site were pretty overpriced for the low quality of food. Overall, this hotel was not worth the price. While the staff was kind, the lack of upkeep, amenities, and value will make us look elsewhere for future visits.

Location was great, very centrally located. Room was nice, but key didn't work, no biggie, they issued a new one. Restaurant and bartenders were great! Food was also very good! Later the first night we found the TV wouldn't turn on. After front desk person did some troubleshooting, he had to replace the TV, with a MUCH smaller TV. Within an hour, the audio quit on that one. Had to wait until next day to have that fixed. Pool and hot were disgusting, actual piles of dirt laying on the bottom. Would not recommend for $200 a night!

Rooms were spacious but walls THIN!! At 1am we were in our room and could CLEARLY hear a couple enjoying themselves! It was clear as day like they were in the same room. Otherwise location was nice small parking lot though.
