I stopped in Munising at the Putvin Health Mart on our way across northern US. (My husband and daughter are riding their bicycles from Cape Cod, Massachusetts to Seattle, Washington, raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project.) The staff at Putvin were very helpful printing out and filling a prescription from our vet in Florida AND they made a very generous donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. Very nice people and a shop filled with all sorts of great things!

Putvin's is as much a local institution as Big Springs or Paul Bunyan - they have been a locally owned and operated business here in Manistique for years! I have always been really happy with the service I get on filling my prescriptions, and if there are personal care items I need, they order them in within a day or two for me! Highly recommend!

My medications are filled at the same time of the month, which is nice, but this is a service almost all pharmacies offer. Or at least outside of the UP. They usually get my meds right. Usually.

I hate calling the pharmacy because those working behind the pharmacy counter are already dealing with too many patients for such a big area they service, and they're often a little short and just want to get you off the phone.

Pharmacy hours are laughable. This pharmacy opens at 9am. Things in Manistique that are open before the PHARMACY are: Manistique Lumber & Supply, Westside Tobacco & More, every gas station, both dollar stores... And Putvin's isn't even open on Sunday!! Someone could be in a tough spot really needing their medicine and either it's too early in the morning, or it could be a Sunday and you might have to wait and suffer or drive to Escanaba.

Coming from a place where there are pharmacies on every street corner, this pharmacy drops the ball. The patient-facing staff is usually nice, however. Wait times greatly vary. It could be 20 minutes or 6 hours, or maybe the next day. I never know.

Great service, pharmacists remember you and take time to help. Don't forget there is a large parking lot in the back just off of either side streets, in case the few curb side front spots are fille. There is also a rear entrance for customers so you don't have to walk around the block to get in.
