Chicken fried steak is real rib-eye steak breaded. Top choice breakfast.

I had the 3 fish tacos from the appetizer menu, they were Incredible. Unfortunately we did not realize when we went for dinner a live band was playing. The instruments were louder than the singer and overall it was very loud for a dinner area. We could not have any conversation with our family. We will definitely go back when the band is not there our outside.

We've been excited to visit this relatively new place for months. Pioneer is only a 10 minute drive up the mountain (North on Hwy CA88 from Pune Grove). Impressed from the moment we pulled into a recently renovated campus consisting of a motel & the restaurant. Clean and fresh were my first thoughts as my grandson & I parked comfortably in the front. Upon entering, "Dining" was our destination as we proceeded forward, passing a sign for "Bar" to our right. It was a Friday late afternoon, and the festive yet contolled libation was underway as the end of the week celebrating was underway. Happiness surrounded us as we proceeded down the hallway to our dining destination. We were there for a late lunch, knowing we missed the busy time hours before. Greeted pleasantly and seated right away to dig into the menu that had many appetizing and familiar names. We kept it simple... we were there for "fries and milkshakes." These were our go-to when rating grandson approval destinations. Unfortunately, our host informed us right away that "shakes" were part of their future plans but not available at this time. No problem, my grandson reviewed his kids' menu, I the adults', Fish 'n Chips were chosen by both of us. Huge portions were served to us rapidly, and we indulged our time in glee; outstanding food. Our service was friendly, informed us well with answers to our questions, and shared in neighborly conversation that reminds us why we like this area so much.
The atmosphere was clean, beautiful, and inviting. There's a newness to our surroundings with an obvious attention to detail. Great view of a meadow surrounded by a Pine tree Forrest. Again, it seemed fresh and peaceful, gazing out the windows anticipating the 4 seasons of change. We talked about returning and bringing the family with us; the breakfast menu looked intriguing! Prices were average, maybe on the high side, but isn't everything these dates.

I stayed at the Motel next door on a road trip and ate dinner with my Dad at Plate 88. It was very good. The food was delicious, the service was competent and not overbearing. The atmosphere with deer outside the window was lovely. Fully recommend dining here.

The kitchen sets the staff up for failure. Dinner service has excellent people taking care of you. Just a slow pace to the kitchen. Be ready to hang out for a while. Have some drinks ( they are very well made )

My fiancé and I came in this past Monday night, and we were absolutely blown away by the bartender. such a graceful way of working—it was like watching a ballerina behind the bar.

Very friendly and attentive, making sure we were taken care of the entire time. Honestly, what could’ve been just an okay night turned into something memorable. The food was fine, but her service made the whole experience.

completely changed how we feel about this place, and we’ll definitely be coming back

As a non-local, this place was a hidden gem on our way out of Tahoe. The brisket sandwich was excellent and the service was wonderful. Definitely recommend stopping here for some quick and delicious american grill food.

We went for dinner tonight and not only was the service amazing (thank you CieCie) but the food was delicious!! My son devoured his chicken and alfredo and the rest of us cleaned our plates! Everything was fresh and let me tell you about the RANCH DRESSING 🤤🔥🔥🔥 it is homemade, and I’m not talking about opening a packet and adding milk 😂 amazing, can’t wait to go back and support this family business that obviously LOVES their craft!
