This is one of my favorite small businesses in Pasadena! <3 This hidden gem is bursting with color from Guatemalan culture and filled with beautiful plants! The coffee is ridiculously good and made with so much love!! 🥹 The staff are absolute angels, Cindy and her sister always make me feel so welcomed. Parking is super easy with a lot in the back but most of the time I just find street parking out front. ‼️Right now, they’re prioritizing donations for those affected by fires, so while the usual vibe filled with plants is a little lighter, so for the review stating it doesn’t look like photos online this is why and I’m sure if you just communicate with the staff they’ll be able to help you out with whatever you’re trying to find.

I absolutely adore this place!! The atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff is AMAZING! I cannot say enough good things about my experiences coming here for the past few years. I live a couple hours away and find myself prioritizing stopping by whenever I come through town. They have the best coffee in town and a really beautiful selection of house plants. The best part about this business is their ability to rally around their community and help out wherever they may be needed. The folks here have been so incredibly supportive during the devastating wild fires in the area, hosting for donations and organizing to help those affected. You really don’t find places like this every day, definitely stop by to see what they’re all about. You won’t be disappointed!

I love this shop. They have the prettiest pots and the healthiest plants. Plus they are so helpful! They will help you pick the perfect plant baby for your space, your level of attention and even your personality. Plants are alive and they need love to grow…these plants come from love. The owners also do so much to support the community. Please support them.

Pasadena Roots and La Chula Coffee are a great duo together. Not only will you find the best iced horchata lattes ever, but you also can browse for a plant for your home or office space. It’s a unique shop that is community focused, and I love that. Their response to helping out their neighbors when the Eaton fire broke out has been amazing.

me and my partner have been coming here for over 2 years now. Cindy, the owner, serves the most delicious coffee drinks — seriously, try the churro latte with a splash of horchata — that are constantly rotating each season. While we love walking around the store enjoying our drinks, appreciating the plants and one-of-a-kind Guatemalan products, chatting with Cindy is our highlight. She is a kind and genuine person who has shown up for her community consistently, especially during the recent Eaton fire. Cindy’s is a MUST for anyone new to the area or who has Pasadena Roots just like the owner.

I wouldn’t call this a plant nursery and it’s not like the photos online- much of the plant space has been replaced by an area with skincare samples. They’re really only selling pothos, and not even many varieties at that.
