We met friends at Nicholson Vineyards and the experience was great. The tasting menu had 5 wines: viognier, chardonnay, pinot noir, petite sirah, and zinfandel. Our server was professional and the wines were a treat. The surroundings are beautiful and we enjoyed every minute. We didn’t order food except the raspberry dark chocolates at the end and they were amazing. You’ll need a reservation here, so plan ahead. Also, totally dog friendly. We left ours at home, but there were many well-behaved pups here and they added to the experience.

Nicholson Vineyards was so accommodating to us! When we visited, we had a 10-month old who had just fallen asleep in her car seat after being very fussy and crying through the entire last winery. We asked if we could stand by our car to do the tasting since we didn’t want to wake up our daughter. They did us one better - they moved a table right in front of our car so we could enjoy tasting while keeping an eye on her. Amazing! The wines were wonderful. The views were wonderful. We bought a couple bottles and the olive oil - so good! Can’t wait to come back.

We were two families out for wine tasting on a lovely day, but warning: don’t bring your kids to this winery—not a child friendly venue. We sat at outdoor picnic tables and the kids wanted to run around and play. It would have been easy to have some lawn games for kids to stay engaged away from the adults, but nope. The staff followed the kids around, policing them and telling them everything they couldn’t do. We sent them off property to play elsewhere and the staff followed them and told them they couldn’t play there either! Totally ridiculous.

Beautiful vineyard, excellent wines. Staff brought us extra utensils and a cutting board to help with the picnic we brought to have with the wine we purchased at the vineyard. The owner, Marguerite, was very friendly and we had a great time chatting about the wines, farm, and family. The wines were all excellent, we especially liked the Sangiovese/Syrah blend and the Amador-sourced Zinfandel. We loved it so much we joined the wine club so we can enjoy the wines while back home on the East coast and help support a lovely small business and family. Visit if you can, I'm sure you will love it too.

We're new to the state, and Nicholson was the first winery we checked out. We felt totally safe during COVID with their (easy, online, same-day) reservation system, distanced and sanitized tables, and respectful group of fellow customers. Not only that- but they were highly communicative, let us sit early for our time slot, and were extremely kind and warm throughout our tasting. We also truly enjoyed all the wines on the tasting menu. We'll be back!

The gentleman, Mike, who helped us was fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable, fun, personable, and professional. Nicholson Vineyard was organized in having everyone properly separated to be adequately social distanced, masks were required (and provided for you if you didn't have one), and they had plenty of hand sanitizer available. Also, the bathrooms were very clean. Most importantly (not more important than our health, that was a joke), the wine was delish!

We spent a couple of hours at Nicholson on a beautiful summery Saturday afternoon. The pinots and zinfandel were some of the best, the staff was very friendly and there was plenty of shade which was great for our dog. Lots of seating and greenery all around. One of the best in Santa Cruz!

Nicholson makes very good wine and they also produce their own estate olive oil. The Tasting Room is a barn, and now they've added a cute little sitting area that juts out from the back of the tasting room, making a small, semi-private spot for small groups. Great hospitality, and a lovely front lawn area where you can sit at a small table and gaze out at the vineyard.
