On January 3, 2025, I visited New India Bazar and noticed that the soybean chunk boxes were close to their expiration date. When I got home, I opened a pack of Deep Pani Puri Puffs, and they tasted awful, almost as if they were expired as well.
I am deeply disappointed with the quality control at New India Bazar.

New India Bazaar this is the place you can buy everything what you need the vegetables are very fresh you can also get Pooja items if you are new to El Camino, this is a place which you can buy everything what you need for house. Next to this. You can also find cooking vessels. inside this new India Bazaar also sell sweets food. The service in this place is very good. you respect to the customers.

This is my favorite Indian store. It is huge with a lot of collection of almost all items. And it is usually less crowded than the nearby Patel brothers. The staff is also friendly and they have multiple lanes so you don’t have to stand in line for too long. The quality of fresh produce is also much better than most other Indian stores and still reasonably priced. They do have a freshly cooked food and dessert counter but I have not tried stuff from there. It doesn’t look very tempting though.

This place used to be my favourite place to buy grocery but my past couple experiences on buying specifically Veer products is bad. I bought a packet of rice flour that was rancid. After sometime i bought 2 packets of kuttu flour, It was rancid and i had to throw it away. Lastly i bought 4 lbs of whole moong and guess what it does not sprout if it does its 10% only compared to other brands. Very unhappy with my experience so far.

Also the associates on the counter are rude most times. I understand you have a long day at work but giving us that grumpy look all the time does not make me visit this place

This store offers a wide selection of Indian groceries, including fresh produce, dairy, and frozen items. It’s a convenient spot to find all the ingredients you need for Indian cooking, with plenty of options for spices, grains, and more.

However, the store is extremely crowded, and the layout is cramped, making it difficult to move around. Finding specific items is a challenge due to the lack of organization. Most importantly, cleanliness is a major issue—I’d rate it 1 out of 5. The store feels quite unhygienic, and parking is also a struggle. With significant improvements in cleanliness and organization, this store could be much better.

Initially when I came new to Bay Area those days there were only few options for Indian groceries , now staying here for more then 2 decades I have been to many Indian grocery stores some were good & some ok.... have seen lots of changes happening in Bay Area since then....

At least now there are loads of Indian Grocery Store to choose from... options are endless wether u stay in San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View , Fremont, Pleasanton etc.....

I always prefer going to New India Bazaar specifically to this location at Santa Clara (even before they expanded the store). I am always happy shopping here.

It's always clean which is extremely important for me I hate going to unhygienic & stinky stores especially for groceries/ vegetables.

They are always well stocked, have fresh vegetables lots of options for Indian products like biscuits, Tea , savory items, spices, pickles, Ghee, Indian Wheat Flour, Indian Rice varieties, Different types of Pulses & Grains and many other items....

They have a whole freezer section full of various brands of Yogurt, frozen veggies, frozen snacks , Indian sweets, Indian Ice creams, batter for Idli & Dosas etc...

Staff are very helpful wether it's at the checkout counter or at the vegetable counter... many times I have asked for help to find something specific as per my requirements & always they are very happy to help.

I love that I have lots of options here while shopping especially when something is on sale!!!

It's so nice to go to the store especially during festival time like Holi, Durga Puja, Diwali to see all the festive food & decorations.

They put lovely Bollywood songs , devotional songs/ prayer chantings which makes the whole shopping experience calm & relaxing.

It's A Home Away from Home for me !!!!

Please Don’t Buy any stuff from this place. Worst place to buy groceries. I bought Malaysian parathas and when I opened it they were stale. Also there was no expiry date on the packet after comparing to the other packets I saw the dates were manipulated and reprinted. Then I had no choice but contact them and they completely denied from accepting those packets and said they were not from there store even after I showed them the receipt of a day before.
