Rainforest Blend: The Magnum Coffee Roastery is family owned and was founded by owner “The Big Bean”. The Big Bean developed a love for coffee during late night study sessions while in college. I totally relate as college was when I acquired a taste for the drink (except it was before early morning lab). Anyways, this eventually led to him pursuing a master’s thesis on the emerging specialty coffee industry. All this was over twenty-five years ago and since then his company has become one of the leading private label coffee suppliers in the country. I’ve never heard of the company, but I spotted the Rainforest Blend on sale at my local Meijer and decided to give it a chance. The metallic purple packaging and tropical theme were what initially drew me in. I thought the grounds had a fantastic aroma, but the brewed coffee was overall somewhat bland. Who knows, maybe I just got a bad bag? I’ll be sticking to my regular brands though as the Rainforest Blend was just okay.

This is mediocre, average coffee. Not horrible or gas-station quality, but also not deserving of the high ratings in my opinion. Smell a bag of grounds and compare it to something quality that is a dollar or two more, like Higher Grounds, and the difference is profound. Taste is bland and boring on the Costa Rica I picked up. Really the only bean worth buying is the Jamaican, which sadly is a blend and not the pure stuff. The packaging and logo is also quite outdated. Screams late 90s/early 2000s.

Great little coffee shop! Come in here for all of your coffee needs! I’ve been coming here for years and Magnum is always a must when heading towards Grand Haven!

The staff is always friendly and have even learned my favorite whenever I come in. Service like that today is rare and appreciated. Coffee is always perfect and new flavors are available frequently.

I fell in love with this place when I first moved to nearby Coopersville!! The entrance is a bit hidden but it's right at the corner near the driveway! There's also a drive-thru! They have a bargain bin of various coffees! They have a rewards punch card! When I was attending my friends wedding in Banff Canada, I stopped at a nearby grocery store and they sold Magnum Coffee Roastery coffee!! While sharing it with the barista in the cafe, she mentioned someone sharing they found Magnums coffee while vacationing in Belize! It's a gem!
