One must take advantage of being in Michigans wine country. We stopped in for a few bottles of wine with friends (and also purchased a couple for home). They feature wine tasting, Parties, weddings and tours. This winery not only grows the grapes and produces the wine but it also bottles and ships. Staff was funny, engaging and friendly. Very nice wines, especially the reds blends which I had.

Great wine and an equally great staff, but the true star of the show is the sweet 14-year-old Golden Retriever—an absolute delight! While the atmosphere is welcoming, the interior could use some aesthetic updates to better reflect Michigan’s charm rather than a Southwest vibe. A little modernization would elevate the experience even more!

Our favorite Northern Michigan winery. We always stop when we come up and they never disappoint. Highly recommended the smoked whitefish pate with crackers!! We also had the chicken salad sandwich with cherries and it was delicious. Love the strawberry rhubarb wine along with others. We really enjoy the country setting on the patio overlooking the grapes and visiting with the dogs. We'll be back next year!!

Mackinaw Trail Winery is a true gem in the wine world. From the moment you step foot on the property, you are enveloped in the beauty of the vineyards and the warmth of the staff. The wines are absolutely outstanding - each one has its own unique character and complexity. The reds are full-bodied and rich, while the whites are crisp and refreshing. The tasting room is cozy and inviting, pet friendly and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend visiting Mackinaw Trail Winery for a truly memorable wine experience.

What a great place! We happened to sit on the patio with (what we found out to be is) the owner. He was super personable! We had a great conversation and even got to see the behind the screen operations. Highly recommend!!! The wine, beer and whitefish dip are great!!! Definitely must try - don’t miss out!

Had a most wonderful dinner tonight! Beautiful night to enjoy the wine and the views from the porch! Wine is delicious. The owner Laurie was the best hostess! She is warm, welcoming and funny! We loved her! Would come back just to see her! But would also get more delicious wine! Highly recommend!

We wanted to love this place as the atmosphere is beautiful and the staff is great! But oh my… the wines are some of the worst I’ve ever had. While no expert, I’m a regular wine drinker who enjoys a variety of flavors… but this was quite literally hard to choke down. The feta dip was delicious, and was the only saving grace!

Edit: Dropping rating to a one, as I’ve never seen a business owner be so childish in their response.
If you can’t handle honest feedback without bullying and demeaning the reviewer, you shouldn’t be in business.
