We have gone to Lucky Plants for landscaping a few times for plants we needed for the yard. Never had much of an issue but again we were only buying one or two plants. We recently redesigned our flower bed and needed to buy 32 plants, which we ordered and got from Lucky Plants. We followed their instructions for watering but still ended up with 3 plants dying. I check the moisture of the soil and made sure it was getting as much water as the plants next to it, which were thriving. I took pictures of the plants that died and went to ask them for help. What I got was very unexpected. They did not care that the plant died and flat out told me it was my fault for it dying. When I told them about the moisture and soil testing being the exact same as the ones next to it which had almost doubled in size, he kept reiterating that it was my fault and walked away from me. I thought being a small mom and pop garden store I would get better customer service, but I guess not. Won't be giving them my business in the future!!!

I’ve had two great experiences at Lucky Plants.

The first time, I went in looking for a couple good hanging plants for my patio that gets a lot of sunlight. They recommended two to me. It’s been almost a year later and they are thriving. When I left they blocked traffic to help me back out of my spot into the busy street!

The second time I went in for a pot and some soil. I asked for advice about my monstera plant and they said to bring it in. They repotted and staked two of my large plants for me!

Jenn and Steven are wonderful owners, and very experienced horticulturalists (25yrs!). Their selection is incredible for such a boutique shop, and their prices are terrific. We found several lovely plants for our new house in Hermosa beach, and Jenn potted them for us on the spot before Steven personally delivered them. He also offered advice for how to care for the plants we already owned, and offered to re-pot anything we pleased at no fee. We will certainly be returning customers!

I love the plants I purchased from Lucky Plants. The gentleman at the nursery guided me to plants that would work best in my garden. He helped me consider the orientation of my yard, sunlight, and water needs, making sure all the plants I chose would have similar sunlight and water requirements. Great service, price, and healthy plants.

Never going to Home Depot for plants again!

Just moved to South Bay a few months ago and I'd been going to Home Depot for gardening needs. Boy was I missing out!

I couldn't find the herb seedlings I wanted at Home Depot and I called ahead to Lucky Plants and they said they had what I needed. When I showed up there was already someone directing me to a parking spot (they have two little spots right inside the gate) which was the perfect first impression. I spent a few minutes looking around and was really impressed with the selection and the health of all the plants. When I got around to the herbs I was duly impressed. Not only did they have what I wanted, but the rosemary was enormous (and my picture is of a small one).

Then I told them I was looking for some pots for plants and they saw the sad excuses I had picked up at Home Depot. Not only did they help me pick out beautiful pots but they also repotted them for free!

I loved them so much I came back again the same day to have them repot another plant for me (and get a nice pot) as well.

Note: in the pictures, the plants are from Home Depot but the pots and repotting job are Lucky Plants.

I love Lucky Plants. The owner is a wealth of knowledge to get you the perfect plant inside or outside for your home. Prices are great, and she has an awesome selection. This is my go-to plant store in South Bay.
