Last night, my girlfriend, a friend, and I had dinner at Lucas Wharf Restaurant & Bar at 595 CA-1, Bodega Bay, CA. Even though I’ve been coming to Bodega Bay for a long time, this was my first visit to this restaurant — and I’m not sure why I waited so long!

We started with fried shrimp and calamari for appetizers. The shrimp were absolutely amazing, and the calamari was delicious too. For my main course, I ordered a medium-rare ribeye steak, which was perfectly cooked and a delight to eat. The girls ordered pasta dishes they thoroughly enjoyed, and they even took their leftovers back to camp.

Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the overall experience was fantastic. I’m already looking forward to coming back. If you’re in Bodega Bay, don’t miss out on this gem!

Had a fantastic meal with plenty of leftovers to easily reheat later. All the food and drink recommendations from my waitress were spot on. I want to say her name was Autumn. I’m sure the mocktails are great too if you’re a teetotaler. 5/5 would go again

I found this seafood restaurant while driving through Bodega Bay on a Sunday late afternoon. The service was great and fast. It was not full so I had a front window view of Bodega Bay. I started with a bowl of clam chowder that was delicious. I had the salmon fish and chips with coleslaw and it was super tasty. The portion size of the three salmon pieces were smaller than I had expected, but still great. I had a glass of draft beer that contained ground coffee and I loved it. The food prices were slightly higher than average for lunch. Overall I highly recommend the Lucas Wharf Restaurant & Bar!

Nothing overly fancy about this seafood place on the bay. Food is palatable. Had the clam chowder, fish and chips, and Caesar salad.

Chowder was good. Didn't thrill me. Salad was fresh, as were the shrimp. Fried fish was a bit oily.

Service was pleasant and attentive. The interior could use an upgrade. Had an older fish shack feel. Overall it's an okay place to grab a bite. Food is a bit pricey. Enjoy the view

Ordered the calamari appetizer, clam chowder, the fried captains feast, the seafood risotto, and the seafood pasta. Overall the only thing we were semi impressed with was the pasta. The only reason I did not give 4 stars is the mussels were not very flavorful, the chowder was slightly above average, the risotto was just okay, the captains feast was just okay, and the server was very......awkward to say the least. That, and I felt for the cost and setting of this restaurant, I would expect a bit more flavor out of the dishes as a whole. They lacked that punch of flavor thats wows you from the start.

Had to stop here, because of the large crowds.

Also there was a sign that stated " best clam chowder 2023 Sonoma county".

We were not disappointed. We got a to go cup of clam chowder this time. Price was significantly better than that of the birds cafe . Below 10 dollars. As for the quality. Right on some of the best on my list.

Clam chowder was thick, I believe they used cream in the stock, veggies were plentiful as well as the clam pieces. Flavor was not bland.

I would consider it a top 10 place of clam chowder I've eaten in California.

Btw the Lucas restaurant is closed for now. So sad!

See my reviews of Fort Bragg, Monterey, Pismo Beach and Santa Maria for sea food and clam chowder.

Lucas Wharf restaurant is great. The salmon and the rock fish are caught locally, many other options on the menu as well. The Pablo crusted salmon is nice and the crab melt sandwich was tasty. We sat by the window and watched the birds, fishermen and even a few seals. The view was very fun.

WOW! From the minute we walked in, the hostess (Pearla) was so helpful and set the mood for a delightful evening. We waited only ten or 15 minutes - just as she said - for a window table. We were celebrating my elderly mother-in-law's 82nd birthday and the window seat was important to us. The service from Amanda (and her busser) was absolutely the best! Incredibly professional with perfect timing for our drinks, apps, soup/salads, main and dessert 🙂 Everything was very fresh and cooked exactly to order with flavors totally on point. We were thrilled with each and every plate! The prices were very reasonable, too. We cannot wait to go back! We also were entertained by watching fisherman loading live crabs into the holding bins on the dock outside the window!
