This is a wonderful rescue farm run by a dedicated family, and I truly appreciate the amazing work they’re doing for the animals. As a vegan, I admire their commitment and the safe haven they’ve created.

However, I recently organized a small meet-up with some families from my TK classroom, planning to visit the farm from 10-12 and have a quick snack. I had checked their website and waiver beforehand, and there was no mention of restrictions on bringing outside food, needing to call ahead during open hours, or any specific dietary guidelines. The farm’s site encourages visitors to enjoy the animals, explore the property, and use the picnic tables available.

During our visit, one parent brought a small charcuterie snack (including salami, cheese, crackers, and fruit) for her kids. Unfortunately, this led to a tense interaction with the owner and a docent, who were visibly upset. I completely respect their views on veganism, but it was unfair to assume we knew outside food was restricted, especially specific non-vegan items.

I would kindly suggest that the farm adds a clear disclaimer on their website outlining any food policies, especially if only vegan food is permitted, and encourages visitors to call ahead if there are additional guidelines. This would prevent any confusion and ensure everyone can respect their preferences. It’s important to recognize that not everyone can follow a vegan diet due to allergies or other dietary needs.

Again, I deeply appreciate the incredible work this farm does and hope this feedback helps improve communication for future visitors.

A beautiful rescue farm in the Valley! My husband and I attended their dinner under the stars event. We met their sweet rescue animals and had an amazing vegan dinner. We learned about their volunteer days which we look forward in participating in the future and met some awesome fellow vegans who love animals. Well worth the visit and supporting a great organization.

Everyone that works there is so compassionate and caring. I petted a cow named Vegan. She wanted to be petted like a cat. I gave her kisses. She wanted more. A turkey and I had a long conversation. The Valentine Brunch was exquisite. Table cloths and napkins were made of cloth. Kindered Spirits Care Farm is a great place to spend an afternoon and seeing how the animals interact with you. You don't know being peaceful until you look into the eyes of the animals and they look into yours.

This is a great place to volunteer if you are interested in sustainable agricultural practices! There is great care put into all the facilities and inner workings of this rescue farm, and it shows in the way its dedicated workers interact with both their animals and guests.

I visited on Saturday the 17th and helped landscape, prepare, and plant thyme on a small hill. Watching the progress of myself and my peers was super rewarding! Karen especially was extremely informative—she taught us about smart farming practices and the unethical happenings of the cattle industry. I learned a lot in just three hours, and was rewarded by the fruits of my labor in the form of a delicious vegan lunch!

I highly recommending visiting and/or volunteering. It is an equally fulfilling and educational experience!

I have been volunteering for Kindred Spirits Care Farm as a docent since September 2022 and I wouldn't trade my experience for the world. Coming every Sunday to be with animals and show families around the farm has not only given me skills needed for my future but has also showed me the beauty of mindfulness, showing up, and nonverbal love. To say I fell in love with this farm would be an understatement because I fell in love in fragments. First with the animals and how they could recognize when I'm gone for a while. Second with the property and the 500 year old Oak Tree that shades over everything as well as the countless fruits and vegetables they have. And finally with the people, who I believe are beyond family. Karen and Nate have always been my biggest supporters and the other volunteers have never once made me feel left out. Today, as I spend my last days volunteering before I'm off to college, I urge you all to go to this farm and experience the magic for yourself. I don't know what I'd do without such a place.

This is a lovely place to visit on Sundays! I went here with my family and met some goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys and pigs. You are able to walk around and pet various animals, while learning about how they came to the farm and about the personality quirks some of the animals have. The people volunteering at Kindred Spirits are kind and helpful. You can tell that the animals are well loved and cared for. Will definitely visit again when they add cows to their family.

I love this sanctuary! I volunteer here quite often for special occasions or just for regular Sundays for the public. The animals are well taken care of and Karen and Nate are very sweet! I enjoy my time here getting to hang out with the animals.
