What an absolutely beautiful place to visit. Not only is there the mouth of Bodega Bay entering the ocean but there's the most scenic little spring fed pond next to the beach. However, do not fall into the pond if you cannot swim because it is 120 feet deep! For a sunset you won't soon forget take the short hike to the top of the hills overlooking the bay and the pond.

This was the proposed site for the Bodega Bay nuclear power plant or "atomic park". From 1958 to 1064, Pacific Gas ans Electric company pursued plans to build this reactor just 2 miles from the San Andreas Fault. The pond is the foundation they dug for the reactor now known as the "hole in the head".
