I recently visited Hereford & Hops Steakhouse and Brewery at 624 Ludington Street in Escanaba, MI. I was overwhelmed with its location in I believe was a hotel. The interior was beautiful and the bar itself was awesome..I ordered the cheeseburger and it was delicious. Many other choices to try. The beer made on site was awesome. Kudos to the brewmaster.

We were visiting from Louisiana and we took my mom to celebrate her 90th birthday. There were 7 of us including 2 children (age 1 year and 3 years). We got in shortly after 6:30 on a Friday evening, but there were very few people in the restaurant. The waitress came to take our drink order and then15 to 20 minutes later, she brought most of our drinks, but not all of them. It took 30 minutes before she even took our order, which should have given us a clue that this was not going to be good. We ordered appetizers and entrees. The appetizers took another 45 minutes to come out and after the appetizers, it was another 45 minutes before our entrees arrived.( And several of the orders were incorrect) We asked several times if it was possible for the macaroni and cheese for the kids to be brought out,since
the kids were so hungry. And she just said it would all come out at the same time. All in all, I think we spent just short of 3 hours there. We did talk to the manager that was there that night, but I felt we were gaslighted by both the manager and our waitress. Unfortunately, we will never return to this restaurant again. The food was good, but the service was horrific.

Absolutely awful. The food was pretty good. The service was atrocious. We got there at 6:45. We got our appetizers 7:50. Our food finally came at 8:30. The dining room was empty, there is no excuse for what we went through. The solution was to give us 15% off our bill...

Went in there on Valentine’s day for dinner, there were maybe less than 10 tables in the entire restaurant. We ordered appetizers and food not long after. Appetizers were fine, then quite some time went by, maybe 45-hour later we still hadn’t gotten our food. By this point there were tables around us who were sat after and had finished their dinners. We ask a manager and he was rude and informed us our food was not close to being ready yet. Did not apologize or anything. Our server Kelly was very sweet but there is absolutely no reason our food should have taken so long. We paid for our appetizers and left.

The food and service far exceeded my expectations. Jess is amazing! Great menu with great prices. I had the " Italian panini " my wife had "the Frisco melt". Both were unbelievable. There's 8 or 9 beers on tap that they brew, and several NA beers outside the typical bar beers. I would rate this higher if there was another star to add. Definitely will be back and I can't wait!

I have lived in Escanaba most my life and have been gone for 4 years. Came back to visit family and took all of them out to H&H for dinner. Way over priced now. The grill had no meat or fish or even sauces to do a stir fry and it was 6pm, which to me is prime time for dinner. Should have known since only one table had people when we walked in. The chili was $6.25 and was not even a cup full. The salad had white tomatoes, not even ripe! Had to have them bring out three sweet potatoes and I included a photo of it, black! Steak had to be sent back way under cooked, ordered medium and came out rare. The steak photo was order at medium rare and came out well past medium. My aunt who still lives here warned me that they stopped coming here over a year ago due to the food being so bad for the price! Should have listened!!! Will never come back.

Been sitting here for over an hour and not a single staff member has dropped off a menu or asked if I've been served yet, and the one I asked for a menu didn't even bother to respond. Only came here for the local band performance anyway. Never coming back

Building is falling apart, menus have not been updated at least for drinks as 1 of the drinks a friend ordered came out wrong and was corrected but was missing an ingredient and was told it was being phased out. Got smokehouse brisket sandwich, their version of a french dip, beef was a little dry but probably would have been better with Au jus, the au jus they served was so tasteless and grosse i couldnt even use it. Still have a setup for mongolian grill but was told thats being discontinued as well. Better off going somewhere with less problems. Very disappointed and me and my friends wont be back.
