We went to Henderson Castle for the 17 course French tasting menu. It was a birthday dinner wish for my youngest son. We had a wonderful time. The food was a tasty discovery of flavors and experiences. Beautifully presented and an overall wonderful evening. What we saw of the castle was beautiful. We can't wait to fo back in the warmer months for a full tour, additional food experiences and to take one of the cooking courses offered.

We visited the Henderson Castle for our annual Girls Christmas Trip. Driving up to the castle was impressive. It sits on a high hill with a vineyard on one side. Our host checked us in and was very pleasant. He even carried our luggage to our room. Since we were early, we had a drink at the bar and chatted it up with the bartender, Courtney, who was very nice. We were in the Victorian Room, which had two double, comfortable beds. Since the three of us all like antiques, we enjoyed looking at the decor. We had dinner that night (filet mignon, lobster and crab legs) and breakfast the next morning. The dining room gave a Downton Abbey feel. We went to the bar after dinner and enjoyed the company of another patron and the bartender. ||The castle needs some tender loving care but we had an enjoyable visit and hope to go again sometime in the future.||The castle is said to be haunted by the original owners but we didn't run into any ghostly guests. Darn!

Couples massage provided was exceptional, only suggestion would be to play more relaxing music during massage. Following the massage we stayed and had dinner…disappointed! Both our steaks we had were not cooked to our requested liking. I added on an upgrade to my steak the crab legs for $19.99, when my meal arrived I had 1 snow crab legs on the plate, and to top it off it was cold. The waitress serving up provided exceptional service, and took the crab leg back and off our bill. The overall atmosphere is amazing, I was just expecting to be wowed with the meal as it sounded amazing on the menu.

Stayed a few days for a work trip. I usually stay at airbnb because they have a better feel than the same old hotel rooms. I saw the castle in my search for a nice place to stay, and thought “wow, that sounds cool”. Well i had a wonderful stay. All the staff and especially the owner treated me fantastic. The big highlight for me was that i was able to use the rooftop jacuzzi one night…That and Francois cooked me a delicious breakfast my last day. A pretty cool historic place to stay. If i am back in Kalamazoo i hope to have a repeat stay.

Overall, I was happy with the experience in your charming and historically beautiful bed and breakfast. The service was excellent by the very friendly staff. The location was perfect since I was attending a conference just one mile away. I only wish that I could have had a meal at your restaurant. The menu looked wonderful and the dining room was elegant. I did have a few concerns though. First, when I booked my room I did not realize that it was for a sister location and I did not have the time when I was checking in to change locations prior to my conference starting. This resulted in my getting a much smaller room then what I booked and paid for. Second, one of the reason that I booked with you was that you had two hot tubs and I knew that I had a long drive and I looked forward to trying one out. But the temperature was just warm not hot. And third, the shower was very confusing on how to operate and I wish that there were some printed instructions.

Food and dinner service was excellent. Johnny was excellent.
We would have appreciated some protein with our continental breakfast, and more food.
The Dutch Room bed was so soft that we would sink in about 8 inches into the bed and slide to the middle, and the bedroom got very hot at night with the thermostat set to 66 (it got up to about 75). The bathroom tub does not drain well, and would fill with water during a shower.
We enjoyed the castle tour and though the rooms were creatively decorated and the decor added to the experience. We would come back for the dinner meal, but are not sure we would choose to spend the night again.

I loved every minute of my stay. My Daughter gifted me an overnight stay for Christmas a couple years back. To stay overnight in the castle was on my bucket list. It did not disappoint. We did not eat there, but had done an afternoon of wine tasting the year before. If you're looking for an adventure that will take you back in time, this is it.

I accidentally booked the wrong room and didn’t realize it until we got there and found out that it wouldn’t work. Manager Kyra literally jumped through hoops to accommodate us. She went overboard to give us free champagne and a deal on dinner as well. It’s so refreshing in this day and age to have a business that actually still cares about the customer. 2 thumbs up for a well run organization and Kyra thank you! We definitely recommend visiting this amazing historical property!!
