We recently experienced a sewer issue that required extensive excavation and repair at our home. Harbor Springs Excavating was brought in to do the work. We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Graham, the estimator, and Bruce, the operator, along with Mike, his assistant, were exceptional. The work required extensive excavation of our lawn and an adjoining hillside. Bruce maneuvered the equipment with the finesse of an orchestra conductor. When the work was complete, Bruce and Mike leveled the lawn perfectly for reseeding. We couldn’t be more pleased with the professionalism and customer service we received.

HS Excavating did an AMAZING job with our retaining wall. By cutting up our driveway and sidewalk, they created beautiful long "stones" to use to build our wall, and it looks incredible. People literally stop on the street to comment. The staff were amazing - their attention to detail and making sure we were happy with the results was five star.

Very professional, prompt and pleasant to work with.

I bought a lot of seedlings from the local conservation district seedling sale and put in my order fairly early. When it came time to plant them, I discovered that I could not get on the property where I wanted them because the roadside drainage ditch, which my car had no trouble with last year, was full of water and impassible, and it was clear that I would need a driveway entrance with a culvert. Their lovely estimator was there almost the next day, helped identify the best spot for the drive, and got back to me within a week or so with the estimate. They handled getting the permit and in less than a month I have a perfect crossing over that ditch.

Not only did they do the driveway, whoever did the work was kind enough to pick up some bushes near the area, that most workers probably would have just run over as they worked, and plant them flanking the drive. Wow!

(I got many small seedlings planted by putting a temporary foot bridge of 2 x 8 boards over the ditch, others are in pots and will go at the back of the property pretty soon now that I can get there. So problem solved.)

Harbor Springs Excavating was 'johnny on the spot' for me when my septic line collapsed. I called them on a Monday afternoon, they were there on Tuesday at 8:00 am to look at it, had it replaced by Wednesday, and filled back in by Thursday. Did I mention that it was the week before 4th of July? They were miracle workers for getting the job done so quickly. I had renters coming that weekend and had to have everything in order. The workers were super nice and professional, too!

I have not had work done with this company to date however the customer service/ladies up front have been great. It was refreshing to hear a kind, friendly and efficient staff. Juggling numerous phone calls, etc she was great and took her time getting the info she needed. The staff up front is worth calling them for your project/quote.

Had a drain field put in last fall.. Not too happy with the service. Told the guy to not worry about seeding because i had seed i wanted to use. Came home and they seeded it anyway. There seed is all weeds, and there dirt they use to fill is FULL of big and small rocks. Cleaned all them up last fall and they are STILL coming up from the ground. Ive gone thru 2 sets of blades just this year alone. I do not recommend these people for drainfields.
