This winery is nestled in beautiful nature. The owner is a very kind gentleman with wonderful conversation—he chats with everyone without any intention of just selling something or rushing you out. Some people were even having a picnic with the food they brought from home. And there’s a very sweet dog named Bodi. Cozy, relaxing, and surrounded by nature. The ciders are amazing!

Came here on our Guess Where Trips surprise itinerary, and I'm so glad we did! The setting is absolutely perfect, and the winery building itself is super cute and rustic. They have a gorgeous dog-friendly patio with incredible views - perfect for sipping their delicious wine. I tried the viognier and my partner tried one of their ciders - both were really good! Definitely come out here if you're in the area!

Nice spot. Great views, good selection. Didn't drink the wine, but really enjoyed the ciders and brought a couple bottles home! Pomegranate was my favorite.

Ample parking too, but very steep incline getting in and out of the lot – if you have a sports car like I do, you might want to park down the street instead.

Enjoyed the live music here on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly staff who are locals, and tasting room/seating area has a nice, welcoming ambiance. I recommend it!

I am totally blown away by the graciousness and generosity of the entire Hallcrest Vineyards family. We volunteered at the Ukraine fundraiser hosted by Hallcrest and it was incredible to see how much impact a business that cares can make on the world. The vineyard offered it’s beautiful setting and scenery while the owners and staff all volunteered their time and donated half of their sales for a cause that a very large portion of the population cares about, based on the hundreds of people that showed up. There was delicious wine and cider, Ukrainian folk dancing and music by Zoloti Maky, beautiful flower crowns weaved by local florist Swallows Secret Garden, even Ukrainian food by Chicken Foot! It was a busy day with something fun happening in every corner of the vineyard, with all the vendors volunteering their time for the enjoyment of the many attendees who wanted to show and raise support for Ukraine by celebrating Ukrainian culture with their friends and families! It’s things like this that can change the world!

Overlooking a sunny expanse of meadow encircled by the Santa Cruz Mountains, Hallcrest is a delicious respite tucked into the mountain near downtown Felton. Live music on weekends on the bed of the old farm truck, you can hear the train whistle from Roaring Camp. A highly recommended experience. Kid and dog friendly. Responsibly socially distanced, an afternoon at Hallcrest is a bit of joy in strange times.

Hallcrest is our local outdoor jewel of a winery. Wonderful owners, great wines, tasty sparkling ciders in an outdoor setting and frequently host for musical entertainment all right here in our very own valley. If you haven't heard about it, well now you have. If you haven't been there, well why the heck not? If you are not going tomorrow, when? 🙂

Wine & Cider Tasting Flight at the Hallcrest Vineyards tasting room in Felton.

We were having a hard time deciding what flights to have and the staff wonderfully suggested getting one of each and sharing.

The Santa Cruz Scrumpy Cider had numerous tie ins with the wines themselves - be in shared Viognier yeast with the “French Kiss” or a blended cider & rosé which was my partner’s favourite cider.

Our mutual favourite wine was the 2020 Spotted Cat Vineyard Pinot Noir.

The tasting room itself was situated very nicely and we had a very relaxing afternoon.
