Delicious fried chicken, crunchy batter with chicken so tender and juicy. Has just enough spice to give it a punch of heat without being overpowering. Coleslaw was great, chopped up cabbage in a nice creamy dressing and the beans were super flavorful with pork bits and maybe some bell pepper? Love the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Had the chicken breast and wing lunch that came with the slaw and beans. Other options were greens which were collard greens. We got this to take home and they were great too. Chopped up collards with pork had good flavor. Next time will try a slice of their homemade pie.

OMG, Gus's World Famous Chicken in Santa Ana is a absolute gem! I'm talking the BEST fried chicken I've devoured in a very long time - and the sides? Top-notch all the way! I'm convinced, Gus's serves the best fried chicken in all of Orange County. Don't even get me started on the fried pickles... YUM! The vibe is cool, parking is a breeze, and the only downside is that we don't live closer to make it a regular spot. It's even better than Fixin's in LA, and thankfully, much closer to home. Trust me, you HAVE to try it!

Very much a bustling, neighborhood eatery. The chicken is unique in that it is has more of a crust & the flavor has a slight kick. Very tasty! I got a couple pieces that were charred, which I enjoyed but I realize is not for everyone. The chicken was still juicy on the inside. Potato salad & beans were also good. The greens, however, were very bland which could be doctored up at home.
My only complaint was how soggy the chicken got the next day. I’m not sure if it was just the batch I had but I was very disappointed with the experience the following day. So I recommend eating it fresh & they are sure to serve it piping hot!
Oh, the pecan pie was delicious too!
PS. It is quite expensive but if you’re in the mood for good chicken it is worth the splurge.

Found this spot after just walking around LA for a bit. Best decision of my life. I ordered a 2pc Dark Meat meal which came with a chicken leg, chicken thigh, a piece of bread, coleslaw, and baked beans, and I also ordered the fried okra. The chicken was super tender and juicy, with an amazingly crispy exterior. The coleslaw was pretty sweet. The baked beans were amazing, some of the best I've had in a while. The fried okra was really good, really crunchy on the outside and still very sticky and gooey on the inside. The service at this place was spectacular, the servers are very attentive to customers and were always kind. Love this spot, I'm definitely coming back whenever I return to LA.

My friends took me here to give it a try. Took a few minutes to find parking before actually coming in & sitting down. Ordered the 1/2 chicken with baked beans + Mac N cheese, & a side of small fries. The portions are very small, about 8-10 table spoons of baked beans were actually on the plate & a bit more of on the mac & cheese. The small order of fries were indeed small, at $5 it definitely NOT WORTH IT. Taste wise everything was decent, a solid 7/10 but for The price I was hoping for better. Worth a try but could be better.

Had 3 pc with baked beans and Mac. Also was able to sample fries, Cole slaw and fried pickles.

Pickles were Amazing, but definitely salty.
Cole slaw needed some salt.

Fries, beans and Mac were superb.

Chicken has a slight spice, very fresh, cooked to perfection. Definitely not your usual fried chicken . Very filling.

The fried chicken here is delicious. The skin is super crispy and has a nice spice to it. We also got the fried pickles as an appetizer. We don't usually like fried pickles as spears but these were really good. The breading made it taste almost like pizza. The only disappointment we had was in the sides. We had the mac and cheese, slaw and potato salad. They were fine. Not at the level of the fried chicken. We would come back again. Lots of parking lots nearby.
