I first discovered Gryffon Ridge Spices at The Yarmouth Clam Festival many years ago. I've been using them ever since. They are readily available locally and online, always fresh, and the premixed specialty items are some of the best I've found. I cook A LOT. I have high expectations with regard to freshness and flavor as well as being true to the original. By all accounts, Gryffon Ridge does a great job. I've never been dissatisfied with any of their products and for the price, I can't imagine finding a better local spice brand at a reasonable price. I recently needed access to dried chiles so I could make chili for a local competition & fundraiser. Living in Maine can make tasks like this extra challenging. I knew Gryffon Ridge sold dried chiles, but I didn’t see the ones I wanted in the grocery store. I decided to check out their website & voila! I was able to get all the chiles I needed for a very reasonable price. The ordering process was easy & they arrived at my house a few days after ordering. The chili turned out amazing & won 2nd place. I highly recommend checking them out. Very high quality. I have always been happy with their dried spices also.

I first found out about Gryffon Ridge spices when I was vacationing in Maine and was in need of Cumin for the Cincinnati Chili I was making. The local general store pretty much just carried Gryffon Ridge and so I clearly couldn't be picky but soon found out that their spices are really great stuff. I have since used up that Cumin and was in need of more when I decided to go out to their website to replenish my supply. Their spices are so good. This time I got a bunch of salts plus the cumin, allspice, and some Chipotle Chile flakes. The package made it here promptly and everything was in super condition. I tried the salts - they are all great. The Chipotle Chile flakes and the Cumin both smell awesome! (I haven't opened up the allspice because I don't need it just yet - bought it in anticipation that I would need at some point in the next few months). I will continue to buy from them. So glad that I stumbled upon the brand on that vacation.
