In today's world, it's extremely rare to have an experience far exceed expectations.
My wife and I just completed the Beekeeping 101 and 102 classes at Great Lakes Bee Supply and found it to be incredibly informative and helpful in our new endeavor. Rif and Bill presented a compelling intro to Beekeeping which only fueled our desire to learn more about the fascinating world of Apiology.
The afternoon class flew by but no questions were considered foolish.
It was obvious that Rif and Bill love introducing and educating students to the art of Beekeeping. Their depth of knowledge and willingness to share erases any trepidation in our new venture.
Finally, the tuition was a fraction of the value provided in those 5 hours.
Would we do it again? Absolutely! We'll continue to attend the advanced classes in 2024 as we attain our NUC and begin our apiculture.

We appreciate all our pollinators; SO thankful for all the good information/help identifying our “bees” and planning appropriate steps to safeguard them for the rest of the season. Was able to text a picture and get things sorted for the comfort of all … including our insect friends. Happy they chose our house this summer and can live their natural lifecycle in peace. I took the beginning bee class 101&102. There was a lot of information! They were very helpful, had great explanations and helped me to be more confident in being able to start my own apiary! I highly recommend to someone that’s just getting into bees or thinking they want to. I’ll be back for more classes!

They have all sorts of old items, rocks and other little old time treasures.Excellent business and nice place to visit, even if you don’t purchase anything. Knowledgeable with any question that gets thrown their way and I'm glad that I have a store like this one that is available for conversation and all the questions as well as a supply of anything you could need with many sizes in stock and decent pricing for beginning beekeeping and beyond. The classes are definitely a good touch and the closeness with the family is felt.

Very frustrating to deal with. I signed up for the beekeeping class with my wife. We used their website to do it and scheduled a babysitter because it’s a three hour trip for us. I received a phone call saying we had to cancel because they overbooked. Not sure why my spot was the one that got kicked out. I was super excited and this took a lot of wind out of my sail. I suggest you don’t sign up online for their class because clearly it’s a flawed process.
