This is an excellent shop whether you're stocking up in bulk or just getting a few staples for dinner. They have all of your grains as well as herbs, spices, nuts, pasta, teas, and dehydrated fruits and vegetables. I was shocked to find that I even enjoyed the dried okra!

My favorite things in the store are the fruits. They are delicious!

Everything is sold by weight, so bring your own jars if you have them or you can get your purchases in paper bags. The prices are comparable or cheaper than most grocery stores! Also, Lora, the owner, is very knowledgeable about so many things (including preparedness, cooking/baking, and holistic approaches to living) and is always available for good conversation!

I highly recommend stopping in for a visit!

This is a great hidden treasure inside the Winfield Mercantile. Take in your containers and get tea, herbs, grains, and more in bulk. Healthy options and Lora has a wealth of knowledge to share on homemade healthy options. We will be going back.

Located inside the Urban Mercantile off main Street in Winfield, Ks! My family's journey for eating CLEAN found our new favorite grocery store. 😁 Bring your own containers ( lots of them! because you'll want to take the whole store home) stock up with natural ingredients and enjoy the chances to experience shopping a different Way! Chat with the owner while your there because she has alot of information willing to share and offers the coolest classes on making tinctures!

My wife and I found a shop in Winfield Kansas, named "Grains of a Different Color." We thought it was a great shop because it others so many different kinds of natural food products and teas that are not available in most stores or even most "health food stores."
In this store all items are available in bulk packaging, meaning you can buy exactly as much or as little of any product as you may want.
But the most valuable aspect of this store in our opinion is the knowledge available through the store's owner Lora Bertelsen. If you are looking to improve your diet by consuming more natural foods, Lora has the knowledge to help find the natural food that you might be hunting for. We did!

Just passing through Winfield we stopped at the mercantile and wondered into Lora’s booth. It smells wonderful. Lora was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I enjoyed tasting her tea of the day, which we ended up purchasing. 🙂 The next time I visit, I will be sure and bring containers.

What a fun, interesting and informative experience right here in Winfield, Kansas! Great little spot filled with dry tea leaves, spices, beans and grains of all kind! Popcorn, dried fruit, wheat berries and whole pearled barley, I could go on and on!!! Check it out for yourself & take your own container for large quantities. More than fair prices on everything and educational nutrition information. I already can’t wait to go back!
