So great to see Ghostwood in good hands. Owners Amanda and Dan have done good adding more drink options, from Non-alcoholic beers, to wine, cocktails, and kid friendly drinks, as well as a solid snacks and bites menu to make this place super friendly for any type of party.

The new location allows for special event bookings in the second, very spacious room, while parking is still super convenient and cheap compared to other more popular areas of the Bay.

Trivia Wednesday are already on and more fun is coming in the form of an arcade, open mic night, and maybe even karaoke and/or live music.

The brewmaster Tom is also doing great work. The seasonal pumpkin spice lager smells as advertised great and isn't too spicy in flavor, but lures you in with that point of sweetness that makes this light lager more refined.

Brussel sprouts with blue cheese is also back on the menu as of last Wednesday, super yum, but not as good paired with the malty lagers - well at least for me, I don't like things that taste bitter and the sweet in the brussel sprouts ( which is so yum ) made the malty beers a bit more bitter. I recommend the lighter ones like la luz, the Mexican lager, to pair - super smooth and yum.

Ghostwood is a fun place to watch a game if you’re into sports. They have plenty of tvs, and everything is clean, new, and bright. There’s a lot of natural light and wood tones which give it a warm feel. It’s a vibrant addition to the Redwood City downtown scene, and can be lively and loud on game days.
The food was reasonably good (I liked the pizzonada’s the best - kind of like a giant pizza pocket with dipping sauces, salty and fatty and delicious) and the portions were generous, although they have almost no good options for common dietary restrictions (no vegan/gf/dairy free). My friends like their $5 beers in the afternoons on weekends, and I hear they’re starting trivia nights on Wednesdays soon.
The service seemed to depend on who you get - our bartender was excellent; she was really high energy, friendly and attentive. But another waitress who was older and had a bob was very grouchy and unfriendly, gave unsolicited advice, and really didn’t seem up for customer service, at least on the day we were there. Maybe just stick to sitting at the bar and you’ll do fine.
If you want to have a casual brunch or dinner with a friend in the area, definitely give it a try. It has kind of a friendly, homey vibe that makes it an approachable place to hang out.

Really great beers and food, but they currently do not accept cash, which I find frustrating. Hope to see that change in the future. If so, I'd be happy to provide my business regularly!

Rude, homophobic bartenders. Me and my date walked in and sat down at the mostly empty bar and waited while two bartenders stood around idly while avoiding looking at us. There was nobody else waiting to be served. After several minutes of trying to get their attention, we left.
